widsports or no sports 10/24/2011

there way a time when i thought costomer service was no.1 for a business. not at wildsport, sunday afternoon (Oct.16) an i wanted to buy a 270 left hand rifle with the goodies. terrible counter service , would not take the time to be helpful at all. i wanted a rifle ,scope ,and site boor for the scope all total with tax. $1105.00. I had to figure that out because the sales man walked off to sale a pocket knife and fishing gear. after waiting 20 mins my wife and i headed for the door where i asked the cashier if they sold guns, his responce was its close to sunday nite have a good day. ya right after a phone call 45 min drive and 40 mins being ignored . we got the message and the store manager confirmed how bad this store is ,with his additude the next day. Thankyou wildsport, i went to SPORTSMAN WAREHOUSE was well taken care of and saved money. Pros: null Cons: null more

I would give this store a zero rating if I could! 8/1/2011

I have been a loyal and happy customer of Sportsman's Warehouse since they opened. On the recommendation of a friend, I decided to try Wild Sports for the purchase of a new Air Gun for my son's birthday. Right out of the box, the gun didn't work so, I promptly returned to Wild Sports with it. The ball-less manager rudely took the gun from me and walked it to the back of the store (I guess so he could try to fix it although he never told me what he was doing). After waiting 25 minutes at the counter with everyone ignoring me, the A-Hole Manager, Glen, appeared with the gun and told me they couldn't get it working and I would have to return it to the manufacturer. He even admitted to me that they had checked the same exact gun that they had on display and that one also did not work. I told him that I thought it was extremely poor customer service to make me deal with the manufacturer when the manufacturer had clearly sold them two guns that didn't work. He told me that it was the owner's policy to return any defective items to the manufacturer and not to the store. I asked for the contact information for the owner and he simply wrote the name "Kevin" on a card with the address on it and said I would have to write a letter to Kevin. What a bunch of BS! This store has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever seen! And, their prices are higher than the competition. Next time I will definitely go back to Sportsman's Warehouse and I will be telling ALL of my friends who hunt and fish to STAY AWAY FROM WILD SPORTS!!! more

STAY AWAY 3/16/2011

STAY AWAY - This place is bad news. The employees WILL intentionally rip you off given the chance. I wish I could remember their names because I would spill as much as I could on the one's I talked to. All I have to go on is what I remember about them. One, a big fat guy with glasses, and the second guy, some short, loudmouth prick. These people are miserable cons and they want to make everything as complicated as possible.\r \r First of all, I have heard nothing but bad things about them from a couple buddies of mine. When I went in for information on handgun cleaning, I was actually surprised on how friendly they were. But their fake manners and friendliness didn't compare to what they tried to pull. \r \r While trying to complete a private handgun transfer, they said my proof of residency on my registration wasn't satisfactory. I asked them what I could do, they said I could purchase an annual hunting license or fishing license (neither of which I can do this year). This was a more

Never Shop Here! Wild Sports will LIE to you! 2/23/2011

These people will LIE to you! I went in to purchase a new Air Gun. Long story short, I listened to their tall tales and purchased the gun. After I got it home and found it didn't shoot at the desired FPS, Wild Sports refused to exchange it, and then I found out the gun was all but 6 years old and that I paid well over $200 the expected price. All I can say, this is the 3rd time I have felt like Wild Sports took advantage of me. I will NEVER shop there again. more

Worst Customer Service 2/12/2011

I purchased 2 plastic scope covers with the assistance and advise of an employee. Turned out they did not work. Took them back 3 days later in the original packaging for a refund. They treated me like a thief and quickly pointed out there no refund policy ... store credit or exchange ONLY! more

Great Buying Experience 10/13/2010

I just purchased a new Winchester SX3 12 ga. shotgun for my 15 year old son from Tom at Wild Sports. Tom was just great! He showed us all the high end 12 ga. 3" automatics. They have a great selection: Benelli, Beretta, Browning, Remington, & Winchester to name a few. Tom was very patient with my son's & my questions, I had never purchased a shotgun before (I always used my dad's) and Tom was just a class act to work with. Everyone else at the store was very professional, polite, courteous, & helpful. Operating a shooting sports store is serious business and I got the impression that Wild Sports employees don't suffer fools. Maybe that explains some of the other reviews. more

Terrible employees 4/20/2010

Decent selection for it's size but I can think of a half dozen Sacramento area stores with better selection. The staffs customer service is horrendous the employees come across as arrogant know it all's. I give them a chance every time I'm in the market for a firearm but always leave for another store irritated and frustrated. more

Garbage 1/29/2010

I live close to this store and i would rather drive to Sportsman's warehouse or Reno to bye at Cabelas then spend my hard earned money at this over priced store. The employees are no help if have any questions, they are rude and think there shit doe's not stink. I have been a life long hunter and the store is a wast of time and money, if you are looking for any thing for hunting go else were , I don't like knocking mom and pop shops, but this is one you should cross off your list!!!!!! Pros: Not much to say Cons: Everything in all more

Customer diss-service 11/29/2009

Bought a item and returned it the next day to the same cashier as I had misplaced my receipt. No problem on my part to receive store credit. However, while I was shopping to use the store credit, the miserable loser cashier aired his disapproval of someone walking in to return an item with no receipt. This was within my earshot and being discussed with his colleagues with customers in the store. Needless to say, humiliating. I understand that you should have a receipt, but I just plain lost it. It was totally uncool and to the cashier, why so angry pal? Hope you have a better attitude when you look for another job once that place goes out of business because of employees like you. Pros: Glad I won't be back to shop here Cons: Employees aren't friendly more

Mixed feelings 10/11/2009

I have shopped at wild sports for years and have to say they are hard to beat on their selection of huntiing firearms and last time I checked had a respectible selection of handguns as well. It saddens me to hear that they no longer advertise as their weekly adds on thursdays was the only reason I ever subscribed to the Sac Bee. Really. I have to agree with Gail B. that this is not the place for beginners to go, the younger staff do seem to lack knowledge of the products they stock and the older staff are less than very friendly, but in their defense I have stood at the gun counter and listened to some of the most downright idiotic and sometimes even illegal questions possed to these folks, I would cry if I had to put up with half as much stupidity, for some reason I don't see this at other shops, I guess everyone knows where Wild Sports is. more

Nothing But Great Experiences 10/10/2009

I visited Wild Sports to buy a Benelli a couple weeks back. After experiencing terrible service at other shops around Sacramento, I was surprised at how well I was treated at wild sports. The prices were great, and the salesmen were patient and helpful. After I brought the benelli home, I called them because I did not like the padlock that was sold with the gun. They had me pick up a new cable lock and a different padlock - all for free! Great people. Pros: Great Prices. Great Customer Service Cons: None more

Wild Sports is awful 10/3/2009

I try to buy from Wild Sports, but they are never helpful or knowledgable about any product. If you don't know exactly what you are looking for don't go there, because the staff is very unfriendly and down right dumb. No customer service what so ever. Where is the owner? more

Has-Been store, it has really gone down hill. 3/25/2009

I have seen this store become a shadow of itself lately. I keep expecting a closing sale soon. This was once a very good gun/outdoors store. The sales are not printed anymore if they even have them, the fliers they once had for locals have been gone for years. The no-refund policy has driven away 75% of customers, hiring weird acting/looking people as "management" with no customer service skills was a bad move. I go to the big box stores now and don't shop here. more

Was once a decent place 3/25/2009

Pros: Selection/Sales Cons: Poor customer service, NO-REFUNDS-! more

One of my Favorite Stores 5/1/2008

I love this store and will drive an hour just to browse. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They have a very large selection of pistols, rifles, reloading equipment, and camping supplies. A large variety overall. If you're into hunting, camping, fishing or any other sports, this is the place to go. more

Specialized equipment--not for everyone 6/26/2005

Within the areas they cover, there isn't a better stocked sporting goods store in the area. If you're in to hunting and fishing you owe it to yourself to check this store out. PROS: great selection for some sports CONS: not much stock for most sports more
