Find better employees 12/11/2011

- Sorry its long, its worth it!!- I bought A SR556 from them and a FNH FNP45 auto from them. Both times I had mediocre customer service. But this last time I was in takes the cake. First off I will never be going back to this place to purchase any firearms or anything at all. I was just poking around this time and I strolled by the ""flashlight area"" and there was a guy standing there. I asked him if he had any tactical flashlights that mount on your picatinny rail of an AR based rifle. Thats exactly how i asked it. He never made eye contact with me, he kept moving around and then said ""whats that?"" So I put it in easier terms "" A flashlight that mounts to a gun"". So he said ""Go to optics""..... I was a little baffled. Go to optics to find a flashlight.... So by this point I had given up on finding a tactical rail mounted flashlight. So I strolled over to the firearms section to see what kinda of rifles they had in. I seen the Christensen CA-15 I had been wanting forever so I asked this one older guy if I could hold it. Talk about mister no emotions. I looked at two different rifles, the CA-15 and an ACR, the whole time I was there the guy didnt even make a noise! I thanked him twice and he didnt even make a grunt and he was eyeballing me as if I were going to run out of the place with rifle in hand. So I proceeded to the optics area. I noticed an employee I had dealt with before and he rubbed me the wrong way. He was VERY full of him self and acted like he was so much better then everyone else. I see A BSA red dot for $100 that I liked. I was going to purchase it and put it on my AR. I asked him if I could see it, after he pulled it out he instantly says ""I hate BSA"". Okay so the first thing you say is that you hate the scope I am looking at. Then he says ""These things are s***, excuse my french"" because my girlfriend was standing next to me. So I ask him ""Do you hate them personally?"" ""Yeah. I'am a Trijicon fan my self, you name it, Ive got it"". So I aske him ""Well what about the scope dont you like? Is the red dot affected by the recoil of the rifle?"" ""I dont know, I just have heard there crap"". So this guy has no real answer to why this scope sucks. Then a guy walks up that the employee must have known well cause as soon as he seen him he put the scope back in the case and completely ignores me and starts bulls******* with this other guy. As if he decided for me that I wasn't geting that scope. So needless to say I will never be returning again and will proceed to purchase my firearms on knesekguns. I hope you dont have to deal with this store ever. more

No Help at the Knife Counter - For Women, Anyway! 3/9/2009

Went into Sportsman's Warehouse and favorably impressed by knife selection. I wanted a good quality knife for field dressing the lambs that I slaughter. I had been using several old knives that just would not keep an edge, and was hoping to find a good Benchmade that would at least let me get through one carcass before I have to resharpen. Well, I stood at the knife counter looking at the knives for about 5 minutes while an employee ducked in and out, stocking and unloading boxes. Then, a man walked up, and BLAM - instantly the salesperson dropped what he was doing and asked if he could help him. I stood there another 5 minutes while he helped this fellow (who did not buy a knife, BTW). The salesperson finished with the man, wheeled on his heels and left! I had been there for 10 minutes! I can only assume I was ignored because I came from work and was in a dress. I guess he figured I was a bimbo looking for a $5 Swiss Army knock-off to pluck my eyebrows and file my fake nails while I drove my Kia to the club (more like my gnarly old Toyo 4x4 up the dirt road to my farm to field dress sheep carcasses). I was pretty irked. I contacted the store manager, and essentially got an, ""Oh well, sorry"". I spent over $200 on a dynamite Benchmade that is everything I dreamed it would be - and I gave my money to a competitor. Pros: Selection Cons: Absence of customer service ethic! more

It's hard to find good help at the gun counter!!!! 11/12/2007

Is it really hard to hire a good knowlegable staff that is friendlly and helpful in you firearm purchase? It must be for the crew at the 82nd store. Stood there at the gun counter for 10min with no response from anyone! the guy who was honestlly helping another couple didnt even aknowledge me standing there.......not even a glance....nothing. Large selection but poor counter service for firearms. Everything else about store was great if you know what you want so you can get in and out! more
