Brides beware 7/7/2010

I am a legitimate customer with an honest review.\r Although I did my research on the company, I did not want to take the poor reviews into consideration. My husband was a little bit more cautious than I was, but agreed because White Studios was recommended by several business we were working with. Please take our review into consideration when choosing your photographer.\r Among the craziness of a wedding, I forgot to contact the photographer the week of the wedding. All of my other wedding professionals, however, took the time to reach out to me (even my hairdresser). I realized this the morning of the wedding and began to get extremely nervous. An hour before the wedding, Don comes strolling in to take a few pictures. The majority of them were posed, but still beautiful. After the ceremony, we began to take family pictures. At one point in time, he told a family member to “shut the hell up”. He was rude, and I had to literally force him to take pictures that I wanted. Throughout the reception he often missed special events or asked us to stop mid-event to take a picture. If you are looking for a company to take pictures that are candid, I suggest you look elsewhere. \r I can sit here and say all of the negative things that I experienced with this company, but what will that do for other customers? Be very clear about your expectations and do not let the pictures on the website be indicative of their wedding work. Also, request that you submit a portion of your payment after the product is received. Good luck and best wishes.\r Pros: has a nice camera Cons: rude, unprofessional, took many breaks more

A Family Tradition for a Reason 4/13/2010

We planned our Wedding Day as a Once in a Life Time Event. We wanted everything to be incredible for us and for our family and friends, who were coming to enjoy and share our special day. While choosing a photography studio, my newlywed husband and I discussed who to hire based on what our desires were. We wanted quality work done by professional artists. I come from a family of professional artists and the bar is set high. Three of my siblings chose The White Studio to capture the beauty of and the special moments of their wedding day. When my in-laws showed me their wedding photos, what a coincidence, the The White Studio was their photographer 50 years ago. And all the wedding albums we viewed were very handsome with high quality books, papers and processing. Don and Brenda are professional artists who continue to grow with today's contemporary imaging mediums and still offer what I feel to be the most superior format: film. They are dedicated to customer service. They will capture the traditional wedding moments, as well as be as creative as ask them to be. As the consumer, you need to communicate what you want, so that they can meet your needs. Tell them what is important and what is not. Time is money: Let your hired photographer story book your wedding day with professional photos for your wedding album. They know what they are doing. I recommend asking you guests to send you jpegs of their photos of the wedding, candid's and cooky shots for you to create a less formal book for the coffee table. Regarding the ""rude"" comments: A photographer is hired to photograph your wedding day. If you spend too much time at the church, you loose time from your wedding reception. If you use the photographer to take family portraits, you loose time taking wedding day photos. Pick and choose your time spent wisely. Those high quality photos for your wedding album are better spent on the bride and groom, rather than on relatives and guests. Are we happy that we hired The White Studio? Yes! We informed them of where we were getting married and why the location of the wedding and reception were important to us. We communicated what we desired and the listened. Don and Brenda walked us through the various imaging mediums, traditional & contemporary wedding photos and discussed the range of creativity we were comfortable with. We hired a professional studio to take photos and are happy with that decision. We trust them and they were worth the investment. And, look past the contract and see who they are as members of our community. Don and Brenda have spent a number of years volunteering their time as judges for a state-wide children's art competition, the Olympics of the Visual Arts. They have also believe in the artist abilities of our youth, encouraging promising studio minded high school students to use their artistic talents and follow their dreams. I have respect for them as both, as artists and good people. (No, not a paid ad. I am a visual artist supporting another artist and a bride who was happy to hire professional artists.) Pros: Professional Artists at Work more

NO! 1/7/2010

First of all, I AM a legitimate customer and after my experience I am fairly certain the other negative reviews were written by legitimate customers too. \r -Creative shots? None. All our photos are staged and cheesy. There are hardly any candid photos, and only 1 or 2 photos of guests.. and that's because they were standing next to me (the bride). My mother asked the photographer (Brenda) if she would take a family photo of my grandparents and their 8 children, as they were all in attendance and it would be nice to have a family photo. Well, Brenda said NO. (You wouldn't think she was being paid, huh?) She then said if she took that photo, then everyone else would be asking her to take pictures of them. (I think she forgot she was hired to be the PHOTOGRAPHER). Oh and one of the biggest disappointments was how she posed us at the church. She put the grandparents in the center, and bride and groom at the end of the line-saying the grandparents are the center of the family. That may be so, but it was OUR wedding day!! Everyone who sees those photos always ask why we are standing at the end. I kick myself for not speaking up, but I'm pretty sure she would have ignored me anyway.\r -Quality? So, so. In my opinion I think the photos are blurry and dark. When I spoke with Brenda about this she looked at me as if I had eye problems, and shook her head saying ""I don't see it..."" (funny.. everyone else does) Brenda then told me the darkness would be fixed once we purchased the bigger pictures. Well it wasn't, they're still fairly dark-and blurry. \r -Professionalism? Nope! Rudeness all around. Hurried the wedding party through shots at the church, took none of the wedding party at the reception. Was rude to the videographer and told him to get out of her way. (FYI-she was the one jumping in the videographer's way). Was rude to guests and the bride and groom's families (See refusing to take a family photo). She left before the event was over, even though we specifically asked her to remain for the entire event at one of the prior meetings. \r -Overall we were NOT happy with White Studio. Mother of the bride still gets disgusted almost 4 years later when the subject of our wedding photos is brought up. -Also I wish they had a website where the bride/groom/family/friends could look at the wedding photos rather than lugging around the dumb little proofs boxes and fearing they might get out of order (if you return the proofs with even one photo out of order, you have to pay a fee). \r FYI White Studio-you'd probably make more money with a website for people to view the photos and order from. \r -Obviously they act professional and accomodating during the meetings, and you look at books of gorgeous pictures while you are there and just ""know"" yours will be just as good. HA. Look around before you commit to them. Cons: Rude. more

THE WORST!!!! 12/20/2008

We used White Studio for our wedding. They were ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLY RUDE to guest and family members. All I have heard since was ""the wedding was perfect, but the photographers were so rude."" Definitely not recommended!!!!! Out of all the weddings I have been in, I have never dealt with people who were so unprofessional. Don't know how they are still in business. Pros: Inexpensive...It's obvious why Cons: Everything more

DON'T GO TO WHITE STUDIO 6/19/2008

ARE THE WORST!! \r \r I wasn't happy with them from the moment I saw them at a bridal show. They were EXTREMELY rude to everyone. I was so embarrassed and felt really bad for my guests. \r \r I don't know how the pictures look because I have yet to see any. I believe no one can work with this photographer. They will definitely ask you to pay the full price in advance... because nobody would pay them for that attitude. \r \r It was a shame to have them in my wedding!!\r Pros: You learn how rude a photographer can be Cons: You will regret in the rest of your life that you use them for your wedding more

Don't choose them for an important event in your life! 4/10/2008

NOT GOOD. Poor quality of service. RUDE to the guests, family, couple. Did not listen to the requests of the bride and groom or their parents (who paid the bill). Acted like they were in a hurry. Very short with people. Really regret using them for our wedding. What they show you in the show room of course is their ""best"" but what they leave you with is far from it! Pros: they were available. now I know why! Cons: RUDE. Overpriced for their quality of work. more
