I knew this place would be expensive, and I'm no stranger to fine dining. But I thought $39 for a chicken entree was too much.
VERY dark interior, as I know it would have been in the period it was built. I think they could stand to update the place with some more lighting, and perhaps find a way to make it not so noisy. We were seated in the middle of the room, had an early 6:15 reservation, and could barely hold a conversation.
We were celebrating our first anniversary, and my inlaws' 30th anniversary. I wish I could remember the champagne we ordered, but it was WONDERFUL. The servers were all attentive and the maitre'd was pleasant. Just overall I thought it was too expensive.
I had a baked lobster stew, I knew that was what I wanted so I didn't order either salad or appetizer. It was VERY good, but I thought quite overpriced.
I would go here again, perhaps, but only if someone else in my party really wanted to.
