A great place to learn kung fu! 4/19/2010

This place is worth checking out if you're interested in learning kung fu. They also have classes in tai chi, personal training, weight training and circuit training. The facility is clean, the instructors and students are all friendly, and you'll get a great workout! There are kids classes separate from adult classes which is nice, and you can attend as many classes as you like each week in addition to your half hour individual lesson. You'll make great friends, have a lot of fun and get into shape all at the same time. Come in and check this place out! Pros: great instructors, great atmosphere, reasonable prices Cons: can't think of any more

Kung Fu and So Much More 7/2/2009

I began studying with Sifu Ferreira in 1995 and was a dedicated student for almost 10 years. Due to life getting in the way, I had to stop going. I miss it terribly. I'm writing this review because I want to let everyone know that though self defense and exercise was my goal, I got so much more. Even though I haven't studied for almost five years (wow), I use Kung Fu every day of my life. My body just remembers. I ride horses now and have had 3 horses fall. Each time I have been able to do ground defense (I hated it while I was in class). One time my horse actually went to his knees and face planted. I just dove over the top of his head and did a sommersault. I was 48 years old. All the people in the arena couldn't believe their eyes. I was unscathed. GO KUNG FU. Oh. P.S. if you are looking for a sash being handed to you for just showing up, go somewhere else. No sissies allowed. It took me 9 years to get three stripes on a blue sash. I earned every one of those sashes and stripes. Someday, I will return to get my purple sash. Pros: It creates discipline Cons: You need to take the time that it takes. more

Best place to work out 5/10/2009

White Dragon has been such a huge positive influence on my son and myself. Being a single mother to a son who doesn't have a positve male role model is difficult. Since signing my son up for kung fu, i have seen a huge difference in his attitude. He is happier and treating me with much greater respect. I owe it to the amazing staff at white dragon for being such great positive role models. I also work out there and have never been in better shape. If you are a single mom and want to get back in shape while your children are also being worked out, this is the place for you!!! Pros: Inviting Staff more

Martial Arts/Get in Shape! 5/6/2009

The new facility for White Dragon of East County is awesome. They offer a wide variety of services...of course Kung Fu and Tai Chi, which you will get top-notch instructors, one-on-one instruction and group classes 6 days a week. But they also offer group fitness classes - Circut Training and Personal Training with certified perosanal trainers! They also have fitness classes for kids! I've been going for almost a decade now. The Best in San Diego 5/6/2009

White Dragon in El Cajon is a phenomenal place. It provides both individual and group training for all students, has classes for kids and adults and offers both tai chi and choy le fut kung fu. Instructors are professional, knowledgeable and always willing to go the extra mile to help students attain their goals. All this at a great cost! I've driven from North County for over 10 years to come to this school and consider it a priviledge to be a student at White Dragon East County. Excellent place to learn 10/28/2008

This is an excellent place to learn martial arts. My son has been going for 15 years and my wife and I have both taken classes there. It is a great atmosphere for kids and adults. Sifu Ferreira and his instructors are great with children, patient and understanding. more

Not for sissies 10/2/2008

This is a hard core school for the serious student. If you want to learn the best way, you need to learn from the best! Sifu Ferreira knows his stuff and will teach you to become the best you can be. The personal training program is also hard core, effective, and tailored perfectly for each student's needs. Wanna get stronger, feel better about yourself, and let's be honest--look hotter?? The Real Work Out 9/26/2008

I trained at White Dragon under Sifu Ferreira for more than ten years, and this school has changed my life. I am more motivated, disciplined, and in better health than at any stage of my life. White Dragon is a traditional kung fu school, and the training is suited to your needs. Personally, I trained with five year olds to students who were in their seventies. You can find great tai chi work outs, learn more about meditation, and leave the school every time knowing that you had a great work out. more

Best Martial Arts in San Diego 9/22/2008

I never considered attending a martial arts class as an adult. At White Dragon I was welcomed with open arms and encouraged. White Dragon has helped me meet my goals physically and emotionally. I am grateful for all that the White Dragon Family has given to me and my daughter. more

I love kung fu 9/17/2008

I have been training at White Dragon for nine years, and have enjoyed it so much I now bring my kids in for training. White Dragon's philosophy is to help all their students become physically and mentally strong, while still making it fun. The one on one instruction, focusing on goal achievement and the importance of a healthy lifestyle, is great for both adults and children. Whether you're looking for a sport that never loses its challenge, or for real world self defense techniques, White Dragon can meet your goals. I started martial arts with a friend, thinking it would be just a thing to do for a while. It has been nine years, since I first walked through the doors of White Dragon of East County. I have never left. The training there helped me build: respect, discipline and the confidence I needed in order to succeed in school, work and in life. more

Better, Stronger, Faster!!! 9/13/2008

My son began training at the White Dragon in 2004. The reason I brought him was because he was a small guy and was getting picked on at school. I wanted my son to be able to first and foremost to be confident in all situation's and second to be able to protect himself or someone else if need be. In the last 4 years I've seen my son become an even ""better"" person than he already was, ""stronger"" physically and mentally, and able to think ""faster"" on his feet in whatever situation he is in. He is a complete warrior filled with love, honor, and respect for all who cross his path. This is what my son has learned while training at White Dragon El Cajon. more

Best Martial Arts Training for Life 9/13/2008

My husband and I have been members of the White Dragon School in El Cajon since 2001, and we have loved every minute of it. Sifu Ferriera instills an environment where learning is physically and mentally challenging, but safe, fun and thoroughly enjoyable. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and supportive, while encouraging the best from their students. This is a place where strength, flexibility, and stamina are gained through a wide variety of classes and private lessons that culminate in learning a healthy lifestyle and self defense skill set. BEST TOTAL MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTION. PERIOD!!!!! 9/13/2008

Studying under Sifu Ferreira for over 12 years has been the most beneficial experience of my life. It is rare to have the opportunity to study under a five time world champion who can impart his knowledge, experience and techniques to his students and instructors. The combined benefits of kung fu and tai chi have kept me in the best physical and mental condition of my life. At 67 years old my bone density is off the charts, balance , strength and cardiovascular energy at my peak. The new school facility offers a wide variety of individual physical training and rehabilitative options. I would highly recommend looking into White Dragon East County before making a commitment ANYWHERE ELSE!! Pros: BEST INSTRUCTION ANYWHERE. PERIOD!! more
