Whistle Stop is by far the best toy/hobby/train store in that I've ever been too. Prior to shopping at Whistle Stop I always did my birthday shopping and holiday shopping at toys...

Whistle Stop Toy and Hobby 3/27/2006

This toy store located in St. Clair Shores is a great choice for off the beaten path toys. This store carries one of the largest selection of Ty Beanie Babies & Buddies. They also stock young and old childrens learning toys. Carrying such brands as BRIO, Playmobil (huge selection), Sanrio and National Geographic learning toys. Their items are competively priced and their staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. All in all a great place to shop:) more

Whistle Stop should be your FIRST and ONLY stop for toys and hobbycrafts! 3/27/2006

Not only are they one of the closest places where I can buy my beloved Breyer horses, and from QUITE the selection, but they also now carry UglyDolls! Both the large versions, small versions, and the keychains! For a grown-up kid, the place is awesome. Right when you walk into the store, you're greeted with near-life-size stuffed animals like a tiger, gorilla, horse, etc. There's a little something for everyone there, from trucks and trains to the aforementioned horses, to stuffed animals, candy, puzzles, games, magic supplies, I could go on and on! This kind of hobby and toy shop kicks Toys R Us butt every time. If you live on the East side and haven't checked out this store, shame on you! And if you're on the West side, it's worth a drive, believe me. more

WHISTLE SHOP HOBBY & TOY INC. 11/6/2005

Whistle Stop Hobby is located on the east side of Harper between 8 & 9 Mile. The store is clean, well organized and they have a large selection of hard-to-find hobby-related items and even collectable toys. These items are on the pricey side, but for the time saved in searching for hard-to-find items, it’s well worth it! more

Whistle Stop Hobby & Toy - Hobby Shop! 9/3/2005

I visit Whistle Stop Hobby a couple times a year, mainly during the holiday season when I'm trying to find that perfect gift.. the store is clean and well organized and they have a very large selection of hard to find toys.. and a lot of hobby related stuff.. the prices seem to be a little high but really they are not, you are paying the price for these hard to find products, that is the bottom line.. the staff is always friendly and hours are reasonable. more

Place for toy trains 8/20/2005

Whistle Stop is a family run and owned business for numerous years. I've been a customer with them for many years also. The reason why is total customer satisfaction. If you like toys, or you are a hobby enthusiast this is the first place you should stop. The facility is huge as is the selection. The prices are quite reasonable, and they emphasize customer satisfaction. It's worked, I'm a long time customer and I'm sure many others are too. more

Great place to shop for unique hard to find toys! 7/31/2005

As the title states, this place offers unique and hard to find toys. Many are found in catalogs and its nice to NOT pay the shipping! They have layaway as well as periodic sales but be warned that prices are on the high side. They also have a train table set up to help keep the kids busy while a parent shops or looks around. Parking is ample, with parking behind the building as well as to the side of it. more
