I'm a renter at a Westwind managed property.Gestapo HOA does not even begin to describe Westwind. Had 3 violations so far....., latest is an unsubstantiated disturbing the peace violation....no day, date, time given, just someone accused me and I get a violation. Other two violations were petty and involved spying on our fenced in porch to see unacceptable items (cooler that was drying out after a camping trip for one day!)Phone calls to woman who issues violations are never returned, neither are emails. Won't give any details, yet expects I will just shut up and accept the false accusations. Complaints about owners are largely ignored....convicted sex offenders live on either side of me, currently harassing me and stalking me. HOA claims to not be able to do anything. HOA trumps citizens rights, especially if you are a renter. more

I have been an owner in a covenant protected community for the past seven years. Westwind has been our hoa managment company during that entire period. They are in my community every week, they are very responsive to any calls or emails I send them and they truly care about what they do. I lived at another community prior to where I live now and the company managing that associaiton was just the opposite. What a huge difference a good management company makes. more

Why Westwind Management Group the best 12/24/2011

I was surprised to see negative comments, so had to write a review to give balance. I've been the president of Heather Ridge South HOA since the late 1990s; however, we have used Westwind since the late 1980s. What makes them work for us is its ownership and management teams. If any issues arise, we immediately voice them and things are better. Great communications! Very professional. We believe they care about us as a community, and not as a paycheck. Highly recommend! more

Best Management company we have ever had! 10/21/2011

I have lived in my association for over 10 years and have been on the board for over 3. Our manager does a great job in follow through on the details and inspections of our property. I learned from the manager how to read and really understand our financial statement and that gives me the tools I need to make good business decisions. A few weeks ago I recieved the budget draft for 2012 and the explanations for how the numbers were determined was awesome. Best budget I have ever seen and it gets better each year. Great group of people to work with! more

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!!!!! We just moved in and want to move right back out because of the management! They have done nothing for us but deposit the checks and we have only been here a month! Please do your research before renting! DOES ANYONE HAVE A CORPORATE PHONE NUMBER? more

Company doesn't do more than deposit checks 9/29/2011

As a renter, I can say that Westwind is terrible. They don't actually do anything. When we have maintenance requests, they call the owner, who calls the guy down the street, who may or may not show up in a timely manner. It's very awkward having the neighbor come over to do our ""professional maintenance,"" so we try not to contact them. Other than depositing our checks and forwarding our requests to the owner, they don't do anything. If we didn't really like the rental property, we would never do business with this company. more

Owners & Renters Beware 6/14/2011

Westwind took over the property management business of TEL Investments. As owners of multiple rental condos we were happy with TEL as our manager. Then TEL was absorbed by Westwind. TEL was owned by the brother of the owner of Westwind. When Westwind took over TEL service went through the floor. They failed to collect full rent from a tenant that jumped the lease and damaged the property on the way out the door. They are quick to charge rental commissions ... before rent is collected ... and were unaware of the industry standard of escrowing rental deposits. When owners complain about the poor service TEL/Westwind managers ignore the owners or quit. Owners & renters beware of this company. more

VERY NIT PICKY, AND POORLY RUN 10/24/2009

Board Members are constantly looking to PASS JUDGEMENT on the other residents. They act as if they are far better, than non Board Members. Westwind Management (Lisa Spriggs) takes up way to much time, spending HOA fees to HARASS residents based on Board Members self impossed petty nit picking complaints. Pros: NONE THAT I AM AWARE OF!!! Cons: YOU NAME IT, THEY QUALIFY!!! more

NOSY BOARD MEMBERS 4/5/2009

watch out who your neighbors are, you may be living beside a board member who doubles as a peeping tom and busybody. he has no other hobbies besides looking in your windows and checking out your patio. he monitors every visitor who comes in parking lot. you can't get mail without him following you. he knows everyones comings and goings. he lies about who has been to your home when you aren't there. i began taking pictures of him looking in my windows. it's very scary. My experience with Westwind has been nothing but positive. Their job isn't easy. Homeowner's Association management is a thankless job. It is too bad that most people don't understand what it means to own a home and to take pride in your investment. You crazy folks...you aren't being singled out or ""watched"" - clean up your act and quit the whining! I hope to see more positive feedback! Keep away from them 1/28/2008

Stay as far away from this company as possible, they single people out and watch every move you make. They neglect to go after the banks taking care of the empty properties and harass only certain people. There are so many house in my neighborhood who are violating the rules and regulations and the don't seem to bother them. They are completly incompetent. When you turn in stuff for approval it takes them months to approve it then the put a stipulation that it has to be completed before a certain date, which would be realistic if they had approved it in the 20 days it was supposed to take. Pros: you can pay your dues via auto withdrawl Cons: Your paying them to harass you more

Horrible company 10/8/2007

Horrible company. Useless. Constant turnover of employees. Our manager is overworked. She has the most properties since she's the most senior manager-- with only 3 years experience! Contrary to the contract she only comes one a month not twice to inspect property. She sends out letters but has absolutely no follow up. She convinced the Board that violation letters are no longer necessary and they are going to discontinue them effective July 2007. She is advocating individualism. She does not oversee the landscapers. Weeds were pulled once this year. Rock beds have never been groomed. Fence is peeling and broken. Lights have been out for over 6 weeks now. Same yards that were in violation last year are still in violation without any hearings or fines. The violations range from weeds, bad lawns, no shingles, dead trees, broken fences, bad paint. Not worth their fee. Pros: convenient location, nice website Cons: they don't perform their contractual duties more
