Westside Limited Partnership

My 78 year-old mother suffered a serious accident which shattered several bones, dislocated her hip and fractured her spine. Our family prayed she would at least be functional and comfortable. We didn't hold out much hope she would ever walk or return to her apartment. The therapy staff at Westside were phenomenal!! Mother's program took several months, but she walked out of the place and returned to a somewhat normal lifestyle. Nursing staff were compassionate as well as patient. Some of the employees brought their children in to meet Mother. They took extra care to make her comfortable and to feel safe. We made many friends at Westside Village and cannot say enought good about the place. If your family member needs TLC, this is the greatest place you'll find. more

my mother was in this place for less than a week. She was left lying in her feces from day one. Family members found her this way, after only being gone for a couple of hours. The employees screamed from down the hall at family members. \r \r She was dropped out of her wheel chair more than once, or just thrown into the bed, causing her to twist her arm and shoulder to the point where she had to have an x-ray and MRI. \r \r She was assaulted by someone at the facility, be it employee or another resident. She even called 911 at one time and when the dispatcher called back, they were told, oh, this is a nursing facility, this happens all the time. No one was dispatched. \r \r The physical therapist lied in their charts. Stating that she'd refused to go to therapy. Family members were there the whole day, not once did she refuse to go to physical therapy. \r \r We thought all of my mothers complaints were due to her being a stroke victim. \r \r Now we know better, she was NOT hallucinating. \r \r Thank goodness to a sharp eyed EMT, and police officers, we found out exactly what was going on. \r \r Believe me, if a family members is staying anywhere, pay close attention to what they are saying. \r \r It just might be true. \r \r I've since learned, that a lot of the things my mother was saying, were PROBABLY TRUE. My mom was there 4 nights. She is a stroke patient and was telling us that she was sexually assaulted at WESTSIDE VILLAGE. We took her to the hospital where a test was performed. The test came back that she did have severe Trauma. But because WESTSIDE VILLAGE kept her so sedated she could not tell us 100% who her attacker was. Never judge a book by its cover. I will forever live with the choice I made of sending my mom there. To this day she still has nightmares and can not be left alone. Pros: Our Worst Nightmare more

My family cannot say enough good things about this facility and their staff. My Grandmother lived there for nearly 2 years before she passed away and was literally treated like a queen! She loved living there and felt like family to those who cared for. The renovations are complete and the place is absolutely beautiul. You do not feel like you are entering ""an old folks home"", instead it feels more like a resort. They have activities suited for all interests, the dining rooms are open, airy and inviting. I cannot speak to the nursing home care, but can attest to the outstanding care and support of the nursing staff, activities, and administrative staff in the assisted living area. Even the cooks and maintenance staff are personable and caring to everyone they encounter. While not everyone can likely afford these accomodations, it is worth every penny to know your loved one is well taken care of and proud of their new home and surroundings. more

The inside is very nice and newly remodeled, but the service and care are pathetic. The staff was poorly (haggard) dressed and very unprofessional. My 61 year old dad was there for rehabilitation after recently having a stroke. He was referred there from Methodist Hospital. He has daily meds that he needs to take to survive. The staff lost a bottle of his pain medication and refuse to give him what his doctor's have prescribed. They took it upon themselves to deny him his insulin, which his body requires. Then gave him small - unbalanced food for his meals....a small piece of fish and 2 cookies. My dad was given fresh water to drink only when we came to visit. The staff couldn't find the time! He asked for a shower, and was told he would have to wait... the wait became 4 days later!! During the process of this time, he needed fresh toilet paper and was told, they were out. So, if you were judging this book by it's cover, you would be let down. Looks are deceiving!\r \r I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I will not allow my dad to stay there again, nor would I ever refer anyone there!! more

It is unbelievably beautiful, like an Extreme Home Makeover. This is the old Westside Retirement that was completely remodeled & added on to and looks like a 5 star hotel. The service is impecable. They didn't miss a detail including beautiful gardens and fountains. Every senior should see this facility. You might as well spend your money on having the best in your later years because you're not going to take it with you. Having all levels of care is great too. Pros: Ambience, Service Cons: Hard to find but worth it. more
