Unbelievable! That is the only word to describe the recent experience I had at the Westlake Independent service center. On a recent vacation the engine light came on in my car, and wouldn?t turn off. I could have ignored the light for another 1,000 miles, but my wife was not going to let me do that on a family vacation. While I went into the office for a quick meeting my wife took the car to the local Honda dealership. Not feeling comfortable with their service and pricing, $140 to even plug into the car and diagnose the issue, she decided to try Westlake Independent. Upon arrival they quickly plugged into the car, and began diagnosing the problem. Determining the issue and potential solution, they quickly priced the predicted cost and explained the engine concern all within 15 mins of walking into their establishment. I took a lunch break to go over to the shop for my own review of the situation before giving the okay to make the repair, and after 10 minutes with their shop more

It is a rare find to have an Honest, Reliable, and Reasonable mechanic. My Acura with +140K miles has been in several times for various items and every time this shop has delivered on these principles. I wouldn?t say they are the cheapest in town but they are by far NOT the most expensive. But more importantly what ever you might give up in an upfront price you are saved with the knowledge that you will not be back for the same work or a related problem down the road.\r \r Example 1: I had a catalytic converter go out and wanted to replace it with cheaper aftermarket part. They knew that the part wouldn?t pass smog and saved me the double stop.\r \r Example 2: I took the car in for an oil change and a diagnostic. (Burning Oil, Rattle between 3k -4k RPM). They changed to Oil, found a faulty hose that was causing the Oil burn problem, tightened a bolt that eliminated the rattle, and washed the car for $68. I would say that is reasonable especially considering the vehicle was done by n more

Extremely thorough and take real pride in their work. Price is usually a little higher (but less than dealer) but I'm always happy to pay it due to the piece of mind that you're dealing with an honest shop. more

Thorough. I thought I was getting ripped off when I got a second opinion. The owner of Westlake Independent inspected my car personally to be sure his mechanics were honest and it was my 2nd opinion that was wrong! PROS: Clean lobby, lots of magazines, filing system. CONS: more

These trustworthy experts do it all: service, sales, rentals, body work. I've trusted them for almost 20 years. I'll only buy a Honda or Acura so I can take it to them. They put the dealer and other independents in the area to shame, and their prices are very reasonable if you compare what is actually done vs. what other shops include in a service. I'll never go anywhere else! more

I have taken my Hondas several times because I know they will do a good jobl. The only issue is the price which usually at or above dealer prices. Usually you can negotiate down or right below dealer prices. This place knows Hondas and you have no worries of any problems. more
