Westerfield Cobblers

I brought in three different boots to this store: a high heeled boot that the heel was wobbly on, a boot with a broken zipper, and a boot that needed repairs to the sole. I picked up the first two boots when they were ready; the owner needed more time to fix the last one. When I brought the first two boots home, the heel on the first boot was not fixed nor was the zipper on the other boot. When I went to pick up the last boot, I told him about the problems with the first two and he said ""those things happen."" He also began swearing at me when he realized it had taken me a while to pick up the third boot. Literally, he told me that my excuse for my delay ""was a load of b*llsh*t."" And he said it repeatedly. He honestly seemed a little unstable. I am recommending that you find someone else to fix your shoes, both because if you go to Westerfield Cobblers the job probably won't be done right and you can apparently expect to be treated poorly. If you are a person who enjoys good customer service, or just want to know that your hard earned money is going to someone who treats you with common courtesy, then please I urge you to NOT take your business to westerfield cobblers. I am a local performer in downtown Denver and have been a customer of this cobbler for over five years. I brought in a new pair of dance shoes which came with optional rubber soles. The owner said if he ended up using my materials I would receive a discount. He did use them and when I asked about the discount he said he gave it. When I pointed out it was the same price as the last pair which required the same service he said that I talk to much and use to many words. He stated that when customers make to many requests or ask to many questions he blocks them out. Like white noise. This person can do with out your business. I first took a pair of boots in to Westerfields to have the metal shanks taken out and have fiber glass ones put in. They weren't the most expensive pair of shoes out there thus the soles were glued on to the boot. I got the boots back in a couple of days and after wearing them for a little over a week the soles started to come loose.\r \r Now, I just took two bags in for repair. One needed some stitching done on a side pocket. Easy fix, all that had to be done was resew the seam and that's it. Well he managed to get some of the fabric itself caught in the stitching and now the pocket won't extend like it should. When I pointed this out to him he just said, ""oh well that'll work"". YGTBSM!!! The other bag needed a couple zipper tabs. One would require a whole zipper replacement and we agreed that he could just put a small piece of leather on it to use as a make shift tab. The other tab was smaller and he said he would be able to replace just the tab itself. What I got was a GOLD zipper tab that I'm guessing he had laying around in the bottom of a drawer some where. So now my all black bag has a scratched, nicked up gold zipper tab on it.\r \r Needless to say after giving this guy two chances, I'll never go back there again! You get what you pay for. I brought in heels to have the sole replaced, they gauged the toe of the shoe, denied they did it and refused to make it right. Soles are replaceable, the leather on the top of the toe of a shoe is not. Pros: location Cons: Terrible service, returned my shoes worse than when I brought them in. more
