Westage At The Harbor

I?ve lived all over the country and a lot of different places in the world but I cannot believe what a perfectly hidden place this has been to live at! I seriously think no one talks about this place to their friends so no one will find out about it. I moved to Rochester from Key West because of work. I was at the lowest point in my life and career when this happened. I heard nothing but horror stories about Rochester and the weather. I had to be near the water so I found Westage. When I saw how cheap they were I thought this was going to be a nightmare but why not. I came here last winter and there was a lot of snow that I wasn?t use to but ever morning the parking lots were cleared and sidewalks salted. I toughed it out till summer and what a summer it has been! The lake is louder than the ocean sometimes because you are so close to it! A place like this any where else in the world would have been a half million dollars! The pool is world class, the view is amazing! I tell my friends back in Florida what I paid for waterfront condo and they are amazed. Why these place don?t sell for 10x what they do is beyond me. My gain, Next time I will buy a two bedroom condo here, why not at these prices! Don?t hesitate if u get the opportunity to live here! more

I've been here almost 10 years now and I love it here. I saw the other two reviews and they are dead wrong. That guy who said the renters cause the issues here is 100% right. Most people here own their unit ans there are also some great renters here that I am great friends with. We love socializing in the court yard with friends and meeting new people here. Summers at the pool are wonderful, like a vacation. My unit is so clean with a wonderful views. People who visit are jealous. They talk about how they have to mow their lawn and I talk about how I have to lay out at the pool. Lazy and easy is how I describe living here. There have been some people who have rented here thinking they can do as they please and disregard other peoples peace and quiet here. I do love it here and see myself staying here as long as I can. The prior two reviews are way off base. They were both bitter renters and cause tried to cause problems in a very tight community. I could go on what they did, but I?d rather talk about what a great place Westage has been. The location is probably the best in the area. You are right on the lake next to the river, across from Charlotte Beach. You have superb views of boats coming and going. You can hear the lake waves. The Rochester Yacht Club is across the street. There are three restaurants/bars within 100 yards. The pool is wonderful and the grounds and very well maintained. Talk about easy living! I owned a home for years but now I own a condo and love that I don?t have to do any work around the house anymore! Most of the units are owner/occupied with a few renters, which is where any problems usual stem from. 99% of the people are very friendly here, it?s the other 1% that cause 100% of the problems. I lived at Westage for 3 years and can tell you that besides the other negative review (all of which is true), the place is a firetrap waiting to be tourched. I've been so concerned about that place, I bought the domain name for westageattheharbor and have been the force to get things rectified there. If you want a condo on the water, I highly recommend Bay Village. It has much more to offer (pool, community center, workout room, garage for everyone, docks, amazing view) for a bit more money, but the condo fees and taxes are much less. I have lived at the Westage for about 4 months and I have never met people so judgmental and rude. The people nag and complain about everything. The office has yet to give us our lease, parking passes or pool passes and it has been 4 months. We have called numerous times and they never return our calls. The people are rude and very unfriendly. The people who work in the office do nothing. This is by far the worst place I have ever lived. We tried to go swimming and they wouldn't let us in (knowing that we lived there)because we didn't have the passes that we've asked for at least 4 times. They complain about where you park (even though you do not have assigned parking), they leave notes on your door if they think you talking too loud but never with a name. If you are looking for a peaceful place,this is not the place for you! I would not recommend The Westage to anyone!
