Dr Mahoney and his staff are professional, helpful and mindful of my time and needs. About two years ago, Dr Mahoney suggested I try Stelara. Two years of skin clear of psoriasis plaques on my arms and legs has been life changing. From 7 to 70 years old, I have used OTC lotions and creams, Taclonex, Trexall, Clobetasol Propionate Ointment, Olux Methotrexate, Humira, etc. You name it, I have tried it and never fully cleared. I went to Dr Mahoney's office to speak with someone about my acne. I am a little skeptical about how much I paid. Somehow I ended up paying $70 for the visit (normally I pay $35 for specialists) but they added some extra fees to my bill. Also, I paid over $300 for a few topical creams, even with insurance and the ""coupons"" they gave me that were supposed to help bring the cost down. Now I am a college student and I cannot afford to pay this kind of money for some creams (none of which did any good anyways). Also, I am skeptical any time a doctor offers you a coupon for a med. This shows that they have been visited by a pharmaceutical rep, they are selling the rep's product, and THEY are GETTING PAID every time they write that prescription. So it is in the dr's best interest to push you the product, regardless of how much it costs you or wether or not it is the best product for your condition. I feel like this is what happened to me. Honestly I think it should be illegal for doctors to receive money from a third party for writing a prescription, it takes the fundamental practice of healing out of medicine and makes it more like a business- all about the money. It's totally unethical. more

I've had Psoriasis since I was very young and nothing has ever helped my condition. A couple of years ago I developed Psoriatic Arthritis. Last year I discovered Dr. Mahoney and he recommended Humira. I have had fantastic results and am glad to say I'm completely free of both the psoriasis and the arthritis. I've had absolutely no side effects whatsoever. \r The experience at Dr. Mahoney's office has been fantastic. They are respectful of my time and answer all of my questions. They even helped to get me a discount on the medicine. Dr. Mahoney and his entire staff have been absolutely great! I have never been happier with a doctor's office overall. more

One of the best Dermatologists I've ever dealt with....and I've had quite a few. I've had severe psoriasis for over 20 years, and went through 15 years of PUVA therapy before the new biologic drugs came out. I started seeing Dr. Mahoney at the end of that 15-year period, and he got me off of PUVA and onto other therapies that worked. He's willing to try new things to find the drug/therapy that is just right for you. Very knowledgeable and compassionate. Great staff which cares. Thank-you for all you do!! more

I have been a patient of Dr. Mahoney for over 4 years now. I have always received honest answers to my skin questions, prompt test results, and incredible care from the entire staff. Because of his honesty, Dr. Mahoney has always been truthful with me about results from procedures as well as patient with my many questions! This work ethic carries over to his staff as well. After a recent procedure, i called the next morning concerned about the healing process. The staff immediately advised me to come in to reassure me things were going as excepted. I have never received anything less than respect and compassion from anyone in his office. His professional yet approachable manner make him someone that can be trusted to do what is best to help you maintain healthy skin. I have been a patient at West Houston Dermatology for almost 2 years. I came to Dr. Mahoney was a severe case of skin psoriasis & psoriatic arthritis. The rash, which covered my legs, feet, hands, arms & a few other body parts, was so itchy and painful that I was having difficulty walking, sleeping and even concentrating at work. Though the treatment has involved some medication trials, light and laser therapies, I can say that I am so much further ahead now! It's about 75% better! I was referred to Dr. M by another dermatologist! more

Just getting ready for bikini season I decided to get a little coolsculpting after hearing about it from my friend. The result was so immediate I might have to come back again before bikini season really starts! The staff was great that I'm really thinking about getting some laser hair removal done too more

I have been going to West Houston Dermatology for about six years. During that time I have seen the same faces at every visit. These people are like a family and they make you feel like a part of it. They all do anything they can to help. Once in a while, I have to wait a few minutes for my appointments - but the reason is clear. All the people I see - take time to talk to me - from the front desk, to the nurses, to the check out staff. They really care and during this day and time - that is rare!! West Houston Dermatology is a great organization. Dr. Mahoney and his team are wonderful. My husband and son have also received great care here. I highly recommend them! more

There is no way to describe the excellent care I received from Dr. Mahoney. I have suffered for years with psoriasis. I finally gave up and just felt I had to suffer with it. I did not go to a doctor for almost ten years. I had allowed it to rob me of my quality of life so much that my wife gave me an ultimatum. See a Doctor or else! A close friend of my wife's gave her the name of her dermatologist. She said Dr. Mahoney would change my life. HE DID!! He listened to me, reassured me and explained treatment options! When I left, I had HOPE! It has been two weeks and I feel so much better. I am starting to see a significant improvement. I've never left a review - but this is too good not to share. Regards more

I don't really recommend this place, i had a prescription for acne that completly irritate my face and when a call to let them know, the nurse was very rude on the phone. instead of telling me to come so they can see it and give an other prescription she told me to come in four day and i cannot make it in that day i told her. she told me very rudly that's the only day she has or have to come in 2 weeks. she doesn't care about how i look. I have my face not looking good at all i don't even wanna go out. they make me very sad:(((\r more

Called and got an appointment based on the recomendation of another QUACK and after waiting for a month went there. I should have got up and walked out when I observed another patient arguing with them about her bill and charges she didnt know about, but decided to give it a chance. The doctor couldn't wait to get out of the room after like three or four minutes and offered no information about my condition, recomendations or anything to even come close to acting like he cared. I left knowing nothing nomore about my condition than the name (which I had already figured out from the internet) Then he wrote a prescription for over $ 900.00 for some ointments which I can't afford and when I took it to the pharmacy, they told me they know this doctor for wriring these kinds of perscritions. It seems that the pharmacy reps go his office and give him the coupons he hands out to his patients, which did absoultly nothing for me. Apparenty if you have insurance, it would get you a discount (nomore than 40.00 off 560.00) and milk the insurance for the rest, the good doctor needs to figure out if he is a doctor or medicine salesman, because when I went back to ask for a different perscription for less expensive meds I was treated very poorly, never got an answer if a differnet perscription would be posssible and was told to go back and have the phamacy call them for a substitution and that was a lie too. They acted like a used car sales man being asked to take a ""LEMON"" back. So do your self a favor and go anywhere but here. more

I went in for some botox and honestly it was a superb experience! He had great bedside manner and was great at applying the botox. My forehead looks amazing! I personally think the staff here were great short of holding my hand and opening my car door for me(sarcasm btw) I couldn't have asked for more. I really recommend him! more

Not a good place to go. Staff is very unknowledgeable, and not helpful at all. Very DISHONEST. Staff is only trained to collect money. It is obvious that the staff hired at this place is ONLY there because they are cheap labor. \r \r My experience here was terrible! Doctor was okay and seems friendly at first, but he was untruthful about some things. He is out to make a quick buck, and does NOT really seem to be concerned about his patients. Find another dermatologists and STAY AWAY from this place. more

Dr. Mahoney should just change his name to Dr. Botox, because he is the master at it! I have been getting my Botox from Dr. Mahoney for about a year now, he injects just the right amount between my eyebrows and my crow's feet so I don't look like a mannequin and I noticed it lasts longer too, 3 1/2 months to be exact. Everyone that works there is always in a good mood and are always happy to attend to you. He delivers phenomenal results, excellent customer service and is all around one of the best dermatologists that I have ever been to. I am so grateful I found Dr. Mahoney, I reccomend him to anyone that asks, which is only my close friends because the results are that natural! more

I have been seeing Dr. Mahoney for 6 months now and what a huge difference. My previous dermatologist did not deliver the advanced therapy I receive at Dr. Mahoney's clinic. He introduced me to Stelara and I've seen great results. I have clear skin now unless I am really stressed out then I only get a couple of patches but it doesn't come close to how my skin used to react. My previous dermatologist doesn't come close to Dr. Mahoney, the first class customer service and knowledge in his field is amazing. I have reccomend Dr. Mahoney to my sister because of the high quality service and she makes the trip from The Woodlands to see him because she knows she's seeing the best dermatologist! more

I decided to do Zeltiq -- a new treatment for removal of fat cells. Even though this was a non-surgical procedure, I did my homework before selecting a physician, and it paid off! Dr. Mahoney and his staff were professional, courteous, and did a great job of explaining the procedure to me. I could tell that my comfort was their top priority. I'm used to doctors speeding in and out of an exam room, but Dr. Mahoney actually took his time. His assistant, Susan, was wonderful as well. I go back for my follow-up in a few weeks and will advise how it went. more

I have listened to many of the top doctors in the greater Houston area speak. Dr. Mahoney is the most pro-active for the patient. He listen's and understands the patient and discusses the path of treatment. The staff is wonderful and make you feel comfortable. Its a win win sitsuation for me......... more
