Wayne's Garage

Late this summer (2012), I brought my 2006 Ford to Wayne's garage to be inspected and have a broken window in the cap replaced. My roommate at the time warned that I should take my truck elsewhere, but the online reviews seemed to be fair, so I gave them a shot. \r \r I brought the glass and the gasket to the shop, so all that needed be completed was the install. On the first try, the glass was installed without the gasket (which was claimed to have been thrown away by a mechanic they claimed to have fired just that day). Needing my truck for a cross-country journey a few days later, I asked that they do the job right. On the second try, windshield caulking was instead of a gasket to try and make up for the oversight. Despite the work being a bit sloppy, the window has yet to leak, so my complaints (for the window install) stop here.\r \r The other work completed, in order for the truck to pass inspection, was where things got worse. Wayne's Garage is awesome. Wayne (the owner) will call you at work or home or on your cell if he has any questions, and he's great about explaining things in layman's terms. You will always get a good price and quality work. You can't go wrong with Wayne's Garage! more

I've had nothing but good experiences at Wayne's Garage. I had 3 oil changes, 2 state inspections, and a windshield replaced, and each time the price was fair, the work was done timely, and the customer service was friendly and helpful. Overpriced. Unprofessional. Dishonest. Argumentative. Those pretty much sum up my experience with Wayne's Garage. I hate to write mean things, but I also don't like it when people are mean to me. They made me feel stupid when I asked why my car repair was taking so long, and made me feel like some kind of criminal when I threatened to withhold payment (though not repossess my car) until I was satisfied that they had done what they claimed. And also, did you read the comment that was left on the ""Please Avoid"" review? That's the exact kind of attitude I got from them. No thanks more

They literally stole from me. I went in needing only the transmission solenoid 1-2 replaced. It took them over a week, and they performed the ""repair"" without my permission. When I argued that they never even asked for my permission they made me feel like I was personally attacking them and got extremely defensive. They told me they were unable to fix the problem, but still charged me $400 for the replaced solenoid. However, when I took my car to a transmission specialist, he told me that the solenoid had never been replaced, and that they had simply taken my money. This garage should not be on this web site. Period. more

Wayne's Garage has done everything for me from a transmission to an oil change and everything in between. They've done brakes, inspection, radiator work. I've got a van that's a little ill so they've done a whole array of things for me over the years. They keep me on the road, so I'm totally grateful to those guys. I continue to use their service because one, they do quality work. The work also usually costs what they say it will, and they're easy to work with. Wayne's got jokes all day long. It's just a good experience. more

I go to Wayne's Garage for my inspections, oil changes and other services on my truck. I have known Wayne since 1985. He is a good, honest guy. more

I would avoid servicing your car at this garage, especially if you know little about cars. They will find a way to rip you off while purporting to provide high quality customer service. Once they have your car they will find all sorts of unanticipated problems and charge you a premium to fix them. For instance, I had taken my car in for a routine inspection and they said they needed to replace all four struts on my car, even though I later found out that the rear ones, with a lifetime warranty, had been replaced a year ago. (The car was given to me by a relative and I did not have the history of repair on me when I took it in for inspection.) I later found out this out after telling a family member how much I paid for this (over $1700.) Most decent mechanics would charge $1300. They also incorrectly diagnosed a problem when my engine light came on, telling me I needed to have both oxygen sensors replaced, when in reality the code that came up for the problem was for the catalytic conve more

I started going to Wayne's Garage in 1999 for regular maintenance to my vehicle. They have always been professional, helpful and prices are reasonable. I would strongly recommend Wayne's Garage to others. more

Needed brake pads. I dropped the car off before work, they looked at it that morning and called back. I needed more work done (calipers). I was disappointed that the price they quoted ended up being a bit lower than the actual price, but they were honest and called when they needed to do more work before they did it. They took time to explain to me why the work needed to be done, which I appreciated, and ended up working out a fair compromise on the final price. They did good work, they were honest and I would definitely recommend them. Pros: Honest, fairly priced Cons: Not open on weekends more

After two weeks of phone calls not returned, three completed by dates that were not met and two weeks to realize I needed yet another part I pulled my car out of this shop. I recomend not taking your car here. Try Lei's they are far better. more

I have gone to Wayne for several years now, and I have found him to be reliable and trustworthy. I have an older car so it needs work every once in awhile, and I'll always take it to him. When you drop your car off, you have to park it on the street, and that's back where it goes before you pick it up. If only he was open on the weekends (at least Sat)!\r \r Edit: I recently had to have my car towed because the clutch didn't work at all. I was afraid that the whole clutch would have to be replace, something I couldn't afford, but after looking at it, Wayne said only one part needed to be fixed, costing far less than I feared.
