Nice clinic, fair prices 3/5/2009

After moving to the Wausau area a few years ago, I started taking my cats to a clinic near my home, but was absolutely floored one day when the estimate to have one cat's teeth cleaned came to nearly $400! Having worked as a veterinary assistant myself in the past, I knew that this was absolutely ridiculous, so I decided to search elsewhere for animal care. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Zegar at Wausau Animal Hospital to care for my aging cats. She is thorough and informative and has experience in geriatric cat care. She also didn't try to push any treatment plans, but instead offered possible options. I decided to get an estimate for a dental cleaning from this clinic and it was about HALF what the other clinic was charging. I appreciate not being pressured into unnecessary treatment plans, and I REALLY appreciate not being overcharged. This is now my veterinary clinic for all pets current and future! more

below satisfactory 10/2/2008

I had previously enjoyed taking my two dogs to this clinic. The staff seemed to be very helpful and friendly. As far as doctors go the best one is Dr Jeff. He is very good. However he isn't always working every day. Recently after taking one of my dogs for a dental cleaning, I notice her mouth had a big wound on her lip. I was very unhappy that 1st I wasn't told that she was injured during the cleaning and 2nd that I couldn't get any answers about what happened until about 4 days after it happened. One of the staff later admitted to the fact that she had injured my dog's mouth during the cleaning. If I had not looked at her mouth the day of the procedure my dog might have gotten an infection. Another con is that you must pay for all cost right away instead of a payment plan like some other offices. Not everyone can afford to just charge up their credit cards. more

Small clinic with great service 11/27/2005

Wausau Animal Hospital is a small vet clinic that provides service in a way that only a smaller clinic can. The staff and vets are very personable and also relate well to your pets. They make your pets feel at ease the best that they can for any procedures that they need done. The clinic's prices are good, especially considering that it is a smaller clinic. Appointments are easy to come by as well. more

Very nice 6/3/2005

This is where I take my pets. Its very nice...on the small side, but that is normal for a vet. clinic. The staff is very friendly. I have found that they have the lowest prices around in the Wausau area. The vets really know animals. I actually feel comfortable leaving my pets there(and taking them there). more
