Waukesha Housing Authority

Waukesha Housing Authority is run by a bunch of people who do not follow the laws. They insist you have to follow THEIR LAWS. If rent in't paid by noon on the fifth of the month it is considered late although the law states it is late after midnight. If you receive your check on the third and it falls on a friday you will be expected to pay a late charge if you do not get it to them on the third since the fifth falls on a weekend.When you move out of their property IF you get your security deposit back do not expect to receive it in the 21 day time frame that the law states they must pay it. They go by their own laws. The manager of Saratoga Heights in Waukesha WI. will lie to your face and behind your back. When she calculates how much you have to pay for your rent which is suppose to be a third of your income she will use any information even if it isn't yours. If you point out to her that the income statements aren't yours she will tell you that you have to sign it or face an eviction because it is the information she has given HUD. Many people sign it because they have no way of moving if evicted and fear living out on the streets. The staff members will bad mouth tenants that have disabilities to each other and other tenants. Many tenants in Saratoga Heights will tell you they are not happy living there but live there because they have no other options. It is a place for the elderly and disabled to be stored until their death. The Housing Authority needs to be investigated NOW. more

I have been lied to by the housing authority and discriminated against and put to the back of the waiting list that i have been on for the last two years because i dont have a disability to get thier assistance for section 8, I was told when i signed up to get on thier waiting list i did not need to be disabled but have to meet the income requirements to qualify for the progam and i do meet the income requirements and every thing looked promising up until late August after being called into the intake meeting when my name got to the top of the waiting list and two days later i was notified by my worker that i must be disabled to get section 8 and if not my name gets put back at the very begining of the list because they are only taking disabled and familys first and moving those people ahead of me even after they got on the waiting list after me.As i was told earlie on the list is first come first serve and they are not doing that and that is unfair to myself and other low income singal persons and couples that meet the requirements for section 8 housing assistance and that i feel is discrimination towards me and other low income nondisabled persons that need the rent assistance. Nothing i can really do about thier policy because they are legally protected by the state and can get away with anything they want. They are a waste of time and a paint to deal with so do even bother with them. They make me sick to my stomach. more
