Excellent Service 7/22/2016

I am not from the area but was visiting family nearby when we encountered problems with the transmission in my Yukon. Friends and family recommended Waterloo; I am happy to say they were right. Derick, the GM was thorough kept me up to date. It was refreshing to me that everything was checked first before the final outcome-full replacement became reality. Also a follow up call to check in to make sure all was working good was impressive. more

2003 Mercury Mountaineer 3/14/2016

Jim gave us options we could afford. For us it was a Waterloo in house rebuild. This vehicle model is known for having less than normal reliability. When Waterloo was done, the transmission works better than the day we got it with only 27,000 miles on it many years ago! more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND >> VERY HONEST! 2/2/2016

Took my 2003 Ford Explorer to them for slipping issue. Had been told previously I needed a new transmission. Derrick test drove it and said he thought it was just low on fluid. I had a dealer service it a few months earlier. The dealership did not put enough fluid in it! 2 quarts low! THANK YOU WATERLOO for being so honest! more

I recently had my 2010 Ford flex in for service. The job was going to be more than one day. The service manager took me home after work and picked me up the next day. Where else can you expect that kind of service? more

2000 Beetle 12/30/2015

I brought my V.W. Beetle to these folks just before Thanksgiving. After calling around to import car mechanics, I was totally freaking out from the cost they said it could be. Waterloo Transmission diagnosed problem, called me to confirm and fixed the problem at a fraction of the cost. These people are I believe very sincere and experts at what they do. Tim and Karen are very cool. I would recommend them to anyone. more

Wouldn't go there 7/14/2015

They made an appointment with me and I keep calling and calling after dropping the car off they would tell me the end of the week id call at the end of the week they would say the start of next week we'll two months latter I just went and got the car it was sitting in the same spot I dropped it off in flat tires and wouldn't start more

I am very unhappy with the service I received at Waterloo transmission. I had my transnission replaced and have had to take it back twice 4/26/2015

I took it in for a leak in the transnission and it came back with a cracked radiator. A totally different leak. They replaced the radiator which no longer leaks but I still have a huge spot on my driveway. more

The Best Customer Service Ever 4/9/2014

I had to replace a transmission in a 2003 Audi A4 and had been told that it would be nearly impossible to find a transmission for this car unless I went to a dealer. My father contacted Waterloo Transmission and explained to Karen the problems we were facing. She immediately put him in touch with the District Manager named Jim. Jim went out of his way to find what we needed and explain the exorbitant cost of replacing the transmission so that we were able to make an informed decision. Due the low mileage (less than 57,000) and condition of the car we decided to replace the transmission. Jim and all of the crew at Waterloo Transimission in Akron were fantastic and I will (and have already) tell everybody thatI know that if they ever a need any transmission work, call Waterloo. Thank you Jim (and Karen) for everything you did to assist with this difficult task. more

Outstanding Honest Service and Great Prices 1/1/2014

I had an unusual problem with my Land Rover. My Automatic Transmission Shift Lever Was stuck in the Neutral Position. I had the vehicle towed to Waterloo Transmissions because of an outstanding experience I had with them two years prior. They quickly determined the problem was not in the transmission itself but in the shift linkage. It required removing the console. They further determined the problem could be from a Land Rover electronic part that cost nearly $1000 or a mechanical part that would be under $25. It finally turned out to be the under $25 part was the problem so that and a few hours of labor got my vehicle back on the road. The people at Waterloo Transmission are most honest and helpful auto service people I have ever dealt with. My previous experience with them was to replace a transmission. Their price was less than half the price of the Dealer quote. Outstanding service, honest people and skilled mechanics, and great prices are what you receive from Waterloo Transmissions! more

I'm satisfied with the work they did. 10/25/2013

Waterloo Transmission replaced a transmission for me. It went well. I've only had my vehicle back for a few days, but it seems to be working okay. The people there were fine. They did an adequate job. It wasn't amazing, but they did a good job. They're not cheap; there's probably other places you can go for lower prices. But it seemed like they did a good job in a timely manner. more

Waterloo Transmission did a very good job. We took our 2001 Volkswagen in. They did an engine diagnostic. It was pretty cheap. We had the same thing happen to us again and brought it back in. They didn't charge us. The problem was the transmission. They told us what it was and how much it would cost. We made a payment plan where it was half down now and they would fix it up and they did. We finished the payment a little while later. The car works fine now. Andy helped us. He was a real nice guy and knew what he was doing. He fixed the transmission and told us that our steering hose was leaking. They couldn't provide us with the service to fix it, so they told us to go elsewhere. If they were able to do it, I surely would have let them. more

I was very pleased with the service I received from Waterloo Transmission. My transmission had quit on me, and they arranged for a tow pick up for my car. The sales person at the front and the mechanic who worked on my car were both very professional. They did a fine job at getting my car to run again. They gave me a lower price than what was estimated, and they even gave me a guarantee on their service. They called to follow up with me after the service, too. As long as my car keeps running, I am happy. They did a really nice job. I would recommend them. more

Loved This Place 9/26/2013

I rarely write reviews because no one impresses me that much, but these guys did. The fifth gear on my manual transmission had gone out and I wanted my mechanics to fix it. I had gone to MY guys for years and so had my parents. They couldn't fix it , so they sent me to Waterloo. I was nervous because I didn't know the people at Waterloo Transmission. They got me in quickly, diagnosed the problem quickly, did an estimate quickly. They paid half for the rental car I needed for a day. They found a remanufactured transmission with less than 8,000 miles on it that was a much better choice than fixing fifth which would cost almost the same amount and which gave me no guarantee that my 140,000 mile car wouldn't lose first through fourth gears. The car was fixed in one day. They showed me everything ...the old transmission, the new one, etc. Really. I was practically in love with these guys by the time I got my car. I felt like they were my neighbors and I could trust them. more

Fantastic Experience 7/19/2013

My transmission started acting up and not knowing anything about transmissions or what to do when one goes bad, I asked around. Waterloo Transmissions was highly recommend and after I called them I knew why. When I called and explained what was going on, they were very kind and patient with my lack of car know how. They offered to go pick my car up and take a look at it. It turned out that I did need a new transmission. With my car being as old as it was, with as many miles as it had, it was a tough decision for me as to repair or replace the car. They were very patient with me and laid out all my options with no pressure to get the transmission. They quoted me a great price on a factory re manufactured transmission and a great turn around time. Ultimately I chose to replace the vehicle based on mileage and existing wear on the vehicle, but even then they allowed me to leave my car onsite for several days to arrange for it to be picked up. I cannot say enough about the people at Waterloo Transmission and I would highly recommend them. This is where I will be going for any future transmission needs. more

Long term repairs and maintenance 5/29/2013

Waterloo Transmissions flushed the fluid in my transmission and put new filters in my car. I am very happy with them and they recommended some products to use which were helpful. This was my first time using them in a very long time, but then again that is a good thing because they are keeping my transmission up and running without problems. more
