Awesome experience 11/15/2011

Had not been to the salon in 10 years. Had a facial with Janice who has been in the industry for a long ltime and would trust my skin and her experience!, which is hard to say when you are 45 years old! Also had a mani and pedi and was excellent, with iit being a little old fashion compared to modern day salons with massage chairs (they usually hurt my back anyway) they make up for it by giving you are ally good hand massage and foot massage! Claudia, the owner, was the most professional and curtious person and I was treated very well? Thank you and I have already referred several of my friends to her salon! more

What a scene!!! 8/9/2009

This place deserve no star, I've heard a lot of gossip about the Watergate Salon but never thought much of it, I go there for manicures sometimes but lately I started going for my hair as well; Kate was highly recommended by a friend of mine, a very nice European trained hairstylist, very professional & friendly, who had made me very happy with my hair, color & cut. It was the best service I've had in the longest time since I moved to the DC area. unfortunately I've heard today that my favorite hairstylist is no longer at the salon, my friend has witnessed the most obscene & unprofessional behavior from the owner CLAUDIA toward Kate while working on a customer, this is a very low class behavior, I came to a conclusion that all i've previously heard is true & real. My friend & I will never go back to that place, I hope to hear from Kate soon & relocate with her. Please be aware of the Watergate Salon :(( more

I came in this past Saturday for a color and cut with Rita.I was amazed by her speed as well as my perfect hair! I am glad I found a stylist who listens to me! more

Not Important & love this salon 6/17/2009

I am not an "important" person,v.i.p.,or a senator, and I am treated with the up most respect from my stylist and upon check out with Claudia. My look is important to me, as well as how I am treated. I would recommend The Watergate...whatever status you may be. more

Yes, some of the staff are very good. Some so-so. But Claudia, the owner/receptionist is by far the nastiest person I've ever encountered. Perhaps if you are someone ''important'' in DC, she will treat you with respect. But if not, forget about it. I've spent a great deal of $ there over the years, and she couldn't be more of a bitch. She is not a nice person and is unappreciative of most clients business. I've stopped going to the salon just because of her and her nasty attitude - seriously. If she wasn't there, I'd go back in a heartbeat. But after a relaxing facial/hair, it is incredibly unrelaxing to have to check out with her. more

I love this salon! I have been a client for 10 years and have enjoyed going all these years. I have never had a problem with anyone including Claudia.She has always been respectful and kind with myself and several family members that also enjoy this salon. I highly recommend the watergate salon. more

Facials are amazing/afordable! 6/15/2009

I see two of there esthetician's. Michelle or Nadia, I love them both. Michelle is a little harder to get in with but like I said either one makes me look and feel so good. Oh another great thing is they have a unique variety of European skin care that I would only find when I worked overseas. more

Always love coming here...I go to Javier for my color and highlights always spectacular! Haven't yet tried him for a cut still letting my hair grow out.But Im sure he is amazing with his scissors as well! more

Love the Service Though! 6/7/2009

I have been going to the Watergate salon since I was undergrad at GW, Wow 5yrs ago! All my friends introduced me to Nadia which I still go to, she has been there for ever, I will never go anywhere else, I am very pleased & happy with my waxings & facials, she is the best of the best, believe me I am from NY & I have been going to spas since I was 14, my mom use to take me all the time with her. I do know the quality of service very well, I must say that i have tried other places in the area, but wasn't impressed with any of them. I will definitely go to Nadia where ever she is. I must agree a bit, the owner Claudia is a terror but honestly I don't go to her I only go to my favorite lady which I will follow where ever she is. I must say that I will put five stars because of Nadia. The salon definitely deserves it. more

Great Staff! Nasty Owner! 6/6/2009

I stopped going to Watergate Salon about a year ago, another friend of mine has stopped as well recently, I loved seeing Luigi for my hair, he is a great hair stylist, he made me look like a DIVA on my wedding, I miss going to Nadia as well; a parisien trained esthetician with a very soft touch, I never had another facial treatment like the one she used to give me, my skin will glow for days, her waxings were amazing, I started my first Brazilian ever with her, I never had to suffer the OUCH! I wish i could go back there so I can enjoy my services with my favorite people but unfortunately, the owner is the NASTIEST person ever!!! Very poor attitude, arrogant, rude...don't know how much that business will last, I wish she would retire & have someone run the business more professionaly. more

wow, i thought it was just me all these years. the owner claudia is the most obnoxious just down right mean person i've ever met. i have spent a fortune over the years and never treated kindly by her. i looked forward to seeing nadia for facials but couldn't deal anymore with checking and checking out with claudia. it was that bad. do you think she reads any of this? i've seen terrible but spot on reviews of her elsewhere. i know her father left her the salon. maybe she doesn't want to be there? more

Great place if u want a great cut 12/3/2008

I have been to Vlady twice now and he gives such a great cut. I am so appreciative of him for two reasons, he listens and gives me what i have asked for! To many stylist in this area suffer from hearing loss and can be scissor happy. I highly recommend this salon! more

expensive, rude -- absolutely not worth it 1/25/2008

I have been to the Watergate Salon on a number of occasions and never quite felt like my business was appreciated. The owner Claudia is the most unpleasant person ... hmmm, the word bitch comes to mind. She is rude to her staff and customers alike. The services of her staff are fine, in fact Nadia is great for all waxing, but I would skip this place. It's just not worth the time and effort. Going to a salon should be a fun, enjoyable experience and you most definitely will not get this there. more

agree w/ review of watergate. i'm a long time client there but stopped going about a year ago. Claudia, the front desk scheduler/owner is a BITCH. i'm so tired of her treatment of me. i'm a great long term client who never complains, is always on time, leaves big tips. its a shame i won't go back ever again nor recommnend the place. like the stylists, facials, waxing but claudia is a terror. she treats clients like crap on the phone and in person. she treats clients like they are dirt. maybe my purses are not high end enough for her. i'm not sure but its good to hear others think the same of her. i hope this gets back to her. went to the new molecule/st germaine (sp?) salon on 7th street across from the shakespeare theatre. saw stylist (i'm blanking on his name) he came from celiceo downtown, former owner, blonde, 40's. worst hair cut of of my life. i will wear a hat the rest of the summer. a hair cuttery would have cut it better. think i'll go back to nyc and have my hair cut there. more

I love Luigi 7/12/2006

I love Luigi, who has cut my hair for almost 10 years now. The scary thing is that everyone I know who goes to the Watergate loves the hairstylists and other staff. They cannot, however, stand Claudia who books appointments and manages the salon. I really don't have an issue with her, but many people are leaving the salon because of Claudia. I cannot fathom leaving Luigi though. He is THE BEST for cuts bar none. And his color is fab as well. The only bad thing is that he is hard as heck to get an appointment with. But I will wait for him. THE BEST. more
