Okay, this isn't a review of Ward Brothers, i just have to give some info regarding people who review companies based on issues like the ""quote"" vs ""estimate"" deal above. i don't work for Ward Bros and don't even know who the heck they are, was just looking for a carpet cleaner and read these reviews. As information to all, when you call someone on the phone and ask about cleaning, they aren't there, in your house.., best you can ever get and will EVER be given is a BALLPARK ESTIMATE. I have no doubt the reviewer above was even told that. But suddendly when the technician arrives and is able to give an ACTUAL QUOTE because they can now SEE the item being cleaned, you suddenly get frustrated because the cost is higher than the ballpark estimate you were given. And don't try to tell me it wasnt clearly an ESTIMATE at the time, there is no company in this world who wouldnt make that perfectly clear when theyre just talking to you over the phone. But because youre vindictive, you go and put bad reviews for the company on their city search page. I think thats disgusting and CHEAP. All over a 30 dollar differance. I hope people out there dismiss reviews like the one above when they see them, because anyone who thinks what happened to that lady was unfair is ignorant of how business works. What she is claiming with the ""quote"" over the phone thing is BS. It doesnt happen. Funny how selective the memory becomes when a person starts trying to wrangle lower prices out of companies who are already priced barely high enough to pay the bills. You really think there was much profit built in to $105 dollars, lmao? You may say, ""well if you cant give a quote, then dont give an estimate at all..."" That disregards the conniving people out there who basically force some kind of number out of you no matter what you tell them. But with so many Americans wanting to believe ""The customer is always right"", they get all worked up when a business holds their ground and doesnt bend over and kiss the floor because they were allowed to come work for them. The news is, the customer is very RARELY right. Usually when a shoving match starts between a customer and a business, its because the customer is a rude, ignorant, cheap slime, not because the business did anything differant than they promise.
Pros: Offer ballpark estimates over the phone
Cons: Some don't get diff between an estimate and a quote
