it was an intersting time at waltz-astoria,the people were cool,it was a nice home like feeling to it.a place where i could go do some work on my laptop and read or go with a group of my friends and chat all night long drinking cold beers,a couple of glasses of wine,or the best sangria i've had since i came to new york, besides the drinks they have a great dessert selection lots of great different cheese cakes and pies.its nice becauce on my way to astoria park i stumbled onto it,on a nice day you can sit outside or sitting inside was just the same, the girl that works there besides being beutitful, was great to chat with, she had alot of intersting things to talk about and say, nothing else to say but stop by and try that sangria ITS GREAT!!!!!! Pros: great service, good coffee and tea's Cons: needs a happy hour more

love this unique spot! 4/2/2008

i found this bar on Citysearch when looking for something different to do last weekend. Waltz-Astoria was just was i was looking for! there was a live jazz band playing really good music and a great crowd. it was just such a comfortable setting. i loved the wine selection.. and my boyfriend who is a real wine snob was very impressed! it was just nice to be in a place that feels like a family owned place when i'm so far away from my own! i will DEFINITELY be back! Pros: neighborhood spot, relaxed and fun! more

Friendly Astoria Neighboorhood Haunt 8/6/2007

I've only been here four times, but I absolutely love it! Perfect cozy retreat on cold winter nights. By cozy, I do mean this place is very small, but it's size is charming. The walls are colorfully decorated with paintings, vintage advertisements, and stuffed bookshelves. Go on a Tuesday night for Open Mic Standup Comedy. Better yet, go on a Wednesday night for Open Mic Music. One of the employees is a phenomenal pianist. It's a $5 drink minimum, which is reasonable. The drink selection includes plenty of beers and wines. The owner seems very dedicated to his establishment and the young regulars. Pros: Cozy, Inviting, Neighborhood Feel Cons: Some may say ""too small,"" Crowds quickly on Tuesday, Wednesday nights more
