After reading some of the other reviews I felt I absolutely must give my experience with Walker?s and specifically with Byron Adkins. My dad's family told me to go to Walkers. I had my reservations and was scared that quality would suffer due to the inexpensive price. During the first visit I knew I had nothing to worry about and as the week went on I knew Walker?s would make the funeral everything I had hoped for. I am embarassed by my family. Sanfords. Gosh I don't know where to start. The poeple helped us when nobody would and my family not happy. That just not right. She looked good since she was so young and died in a terrible car accident. Byron Adkins was nice and tryed to help my family. I talked to Byron and it's not right when some of my family comlains and they didn't pay anything. That is an embarassment to me. Grow up and stop telling lies on Byron Adkins. He did a good job and gave us a big discont. He loaned me money to pay the funeral when my own family would not. Stopy lying on people. It not right. Byron a racist? How? How? How? Stop lying. Rev. Allen is such a nice minister. Having a minister to comfort the family during this difficult time was so nice. I never been to funeral home where minister was on staff to comfort the family. The spirit of God came over us all in the arrangments and things just got better from there. I knew mom was ok then. I feel the spirt just thinking about it. Glory be to God for providing such good people to take care of us. Brother Walker and Rev. Allen so good. Herb Walker and his children just took such good care of us. Glory be to God. Praise Jesus. I've known Herb Walker Jr for 40 years. Worked with him in Post Office for 20 years. He did my family a great service and I deeply appreciate his warm, caring, and sensitive service. My experience with his funeral home is the same as my experience with him. One word pretty much sums it up: integrity. Pros: Known Herb Walker Jr for 40 years Cons: None. He is professional. more

Mr. Greg Brown is a very fine funeral director. He came to our house and made all the arrangements when dad passed away. We called and he came over and helped with with the funeral planning. After the funeral he helped us with the probate court and all the legal matters. We had never been through this and he literally walked us through all of it. He drove us to the probate court, helped file the will, got us all the death certificates we needed and helped us with all of it. He even went with moms to the social security office and waited with moms for about one hour. He did a whole lot of planning and assistance. He came over and prayed with us the day dad died. He reallly just was there for us. The funeral service was just so beautiful. We paid $2,900 for everything. I couldnt believe the price included such a nice wood casket. Dad worked in the Aurora Casket Company and we picked out such a beautiful oak casket. He had full military honors with 21 gun salute and nice doves flew away after the services. I've never seen anything so beautiful. Dad lived 77 years and it was so perfectly done. Mr. Brown told us he had been a mortician for over 30 years and he is good. He really knows what to do and he is good. After the funeral Mr. Brown had dinner with us at the church and he just was a family member. He just showed all his love and caring for us. He is just wonderful. He told us how he had a ""calling"" to be a funeral director. He does seem like just a natural funeral man and his services are just perfect. He spent all the time and explained everything. We even talked about Michael Jackson and the casket he had. Mr. Brown explained how caskets work and showed us all the different fabrics and things. He made dad's casket special ordered and it had dad's name, birthday, when he died on the blanket in the casket. My dad loved his grandchildren and the casket had his 3 grandchildren embroidered right in the lid! It was so beautiful and everybody just really thought it was so nice. I didn't know all this but Mr. Brown just went through it all one thing at a time. We didn't have to pay because he just billed the insurance. I've never arranged a funeral before and I didnt know what to expect but Mr. Brown was so good. I recomend that anybody go to Mr. Brown because he is so so good and understanding. I like the Spring Grove cemetery and it's nice. We almost went to the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home but we are so happy we went to Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown is the best. We love Mr. Brown. If anybody needs a funeral man that will take care of everything and help the Mr. Brown is the right person. He is really good. My mom writes the horrible company reviews but what is really wrong? She didn't want to spend any money. She was unhappy when dad came home in a little brown paper box. She was unhappy that she didn't have a funeral or do any real service. He did live over 5 decades but it must be the funeral homes fault that my family wanted to spend no money and just throw dad away. My mom acted like his live meant nothing at all. Do it the fast, cheapest, easiest way. But don't take up too much of my time. She was already mad at him for being sick. She was mad at him for dying. She was mad at him for ruing her life and leaving her all alone. What would have been nice was a funeral where we could all say a real goodbye and have a visitation with all MY friends. The funeral was for the LIVING but mom wanted it the easiest and cheapest. Afterall, his life just didn't mean very much at all. He could have done better. He could have not gotten sick. He could have left her more money with life insurance. But it is easier to complain about the cards, complain about it all. It Has to Be somebody else that hurt me. My mom is perfect. Everything mom does is perfect. It is not moms fault that Daddy came home in a box after being incinerated in an oven. Its not mom's fault that his life was reduced to meaning nothing. It is my dad and I will complain. Walker helped me. Walker helped me financially. Walker helped me all the way. They did what mom ask to do: make it fast and easy. I don't want to spend any money. Mom you really did a great job with dad. Yeah you said goodbye at home but it is not the same as a funeral. Now we all feel like things could have been better. My dad deserved more. My dad really wanted more. My dad loved life to the fullest. He loved you to the fullest. He loved us kids to the fullest. We really loved him by putting him in the incinerator and reducing him to a little box of sand. Thanks mom. Keep it going mom with your hardheaded self. My family really cared a lot. They had a cremation right away and didn't want to spend any money. Then they complained about everything as they always do. They wanted money back so they read the guaranteed service and got the plan to complain to get a refund. They got it and now they want more. I am embarassed with my family for doing all this. It is rediculous. I sent a card to the fuenral home telling them how nice they were and things were very nice. My family cared so much they wanted the lowest priced cremation and just throw his life away. I guess they thought it didn't mean much anyway. When you've been on the earth for decades I guess my family thinks the cremation is good enough. My family is not functional. Money means more than anything else. Money means more than any body or any thing. Money. MOney. Money. It is all about the money. I hope my family is happy now cause he's gone and they wanted nothing. My dad meant much more than that. My brother's funeral at Walker was beyond words. The funeral home was so elegant, spacious, with such caring people. I worked for many years with HERB WALKER JR at the U. S. Post Office downtown. I am so glad that he saw it in his heart to open a funeral home with reasonable prices. People can afford the best now and still pay for it. I've used other funeral homes since I'm now in my late 60's. I funeralized my dad and my mom. Nothing compares to Herb Walker for quaility, caring, service, and price. In my opinion he is the very best. He is a man of God and He cares about his people. Before Walker the people of Cincinnati got too little at a high price. I thank God that somebody cares about the little people and the average people. I'm a hard working man and I've worked all my life. It is a good feeling to know I did the best for my family and could afford to do the best. I read some of this absurdities in other reviews and it is just rediculous. I know Herb Walker. I worked with Herb Walker. I know he is honest, decent, and caring. I've been there to his place many times and he's been in my church many times. And his son Herbie is the best. Think about what they are doing. Think about how the competition hates them but still they keep putting out the Good Work. Come to my church at Westwood United Methodist Church and talk to me and anybody in the church. Walker. Walker. Walker. That's what all the folk of the church are talking about. Walker does it right. Walker wont' take you for a ride. Walker takes care of his people. HIS PEOPE. OUR PEOPLE. THE PEOPLE. Support our people and our community and those that giveth back to our people. Put it in the hands of GOD and you can't go wrong. God works miracles and it is a miracle to God that you can good a good decent funeral at a decent price. Come see me in the church on Sunday. We have entrusted the care of our loved ones for years with Walker Funeral Home. Every family that I have viewed after the care of Walker I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed. As a matter of fact they've done awesome jobs in making the deceased look natural. My father passed away on 4th of July. My daughter, (who lives close by my father's home) is taking care of these arrangements and went to Walker Funeral Home at my mother's request as some of her friends had used them in the past and assured her that they were the cheapest. Mr. Walker provided the most beautiful service. My mother looked so beautiful and peaceful. The funeral service was more than great and so professional. Walker provided a Steel Casket, Cadillac Limousine, Cadillac Hearse, Funeral Escort, 5 funeral directors at the church to park cars, usher people, open doors, distribute programs/obituaries for less than the other funeral homes charged me for just the casket!
