I went to W Salon last week because of a groupon coupon I had found online. The salon was smaller, hard to find, but appeared decent inside. I had made an appointment in advance with Kayli (hair stylist) for a simple trim and blowout.
I am more than dissatisfied with my experience and hair cut. She cut very few, if any, of my dead, split ends. However, there is a large section of hair unevenly cut (more like chopped) off on the top layer in the back of my head. I'm not sure if this wàs an attempt to create layers (which I did not ask for) or what her intentions were. Whatever the case may be and I am not a professional stylist, but I feel that my hair should definitely not be uneven and have a blunt, single layer in the back of my head. Also, I don't think that after a "trim" one would have just as many split ends as before the cut. My hair is in no way smooth or healthy looking and the different lengths, that again I never requested, are in no way blended and painfully obvious.
The stylist did not show me the back of my head and I honestly just forgot to ask. I wasn't too concerned considering that I had just requested a small and simple trim,
When I got home, I almost broke into tears. This will take years to grow back and I will need to get another haircut very soon to get rid of the dead and split ends that should have been taken care of.
I called the salon today, requesting a refund from the store owner. I was given excuse after excuse defending the stylist, he refused a refund, and had a rude and condescending tone.
What happened to the customer always being right? I was respectful and non confrontational, despite my panicked state. I've never encountered such poor customer service or such incompetent stylist.
Needless to say I will not be a retuning customer and I wrote this review to hopefully prevent someone else from having the same, horrifying experience,
