Horrible waiter and food for the money 9/9/2008

Overpriced for what you get, food and service. Ordered soups, appetizers and a main course and our clueless waiter, Dave, brought out a dessert fondu for our appetizer. He said that is what we ordered for our appetizer. What??? First, who orders a dessert fondu before their steak dinner, second, we never saw a desset menu, so how would we know what was on it? The waiter forgot drinks, couldn't split checks properly, the crab cakes were bland and the filets were over cooked. The view was the only good thing about the place. Pros: Views Cons: waiter, food more

I enjoyed it! 5/31/2008

I didn't know much about the restaurant beforehand. I had won it in a contest. I had dinner with a Chippendale from the show at the RIO. In case you are curious I won it on C-Squad i-squad.c-m/link/link/ MzgwMzkzfDI1OA== The location was picked by the company. I have to say that the cocktail I had was delicious. It was like a mojito. I wish I could remember the name of it but it had raspberries and mint in it. I enjoyed the food and especially the view. I had stayed at the RIO before and had been there many times to see the Chippendales perform there but had never eaten there. I would recommend it to any one for special occasions such as my dream date with a Chippendale but the food and service was worth the price even if I didn't have to pay (this time.) Thanks Chippendales! more

big disappointment 1/4/2008

Maybe the good chefs had the night off on my birthday, Dec 23, but the food was definitely below par. Their specialty is steak and mine was overdone (I ordered rare), not especially tasty, and not worth the price. I ordered the mushroom combination and it was also so overcooked they could have come from a can! My brother went with a seafood plate which was better but not spectacular. The best part of the meal was a seafood hush puppy, though it was a bit greasy for a quality restaurant. The service was good but I would skip the restaurant next time and just enjoy the Voodoo Lounge instead..it was excellent fun for the outside couches and view, great drinks, and talented bartenders. Pros: service Cons: food quality more

Great view of Vegas 9/22/2007

A little bit pricey, but the food is very good. The service was great. You may want to avoid eating there too early for dinner, as the sun is bright and depending on where you sit, could be directly in your eyes.\r \r Also, don't forget to get your hand stamped so that you can skip paying the cover charge if you want to head back to the lounge after watching Chippendales or hanging around the casino for a bit. The restaurant turns into a really fun lounge/bar at night. The music is good and people tend to make their own dance floor outside. more

Who do, I do 11/3/2006

We shared the coconut (4) shrimp with a tasty citrus Malibu rum sauce and sunflower sprouts appetizer. Our entrees were pan roasted Chilean sea bass wrapped in bacon accompanied by a fingerling potato, 2 Jonah crab claws and a baked tomato in a white wine sauce. What the menu failed to mention is the sea bass was served on a bed of mashed potatoes. We then followed the stairway up to the patio of the Voo Doo Lounge and enjoyed the incredible views on a clear and beautiful evening. more

food was YUMMY! 6/24/2006

my boyfriend and i went to vegas this past month and this was the best place we ate during our stay. the view from the lounge was awesome. you can see the strip while you're partying. the bisque was delicious, they have the best wings i have ever tasted, our entrees was just right, good amount of food. order the witch doctor...you'll be suprised how big this drink is! when you get in the cafe, they charge 20 bucks per person at the door to party in the lounge BUT, if you don't want to...just let your waiter know and they'll give you your money back. Pros: bisque, wings, service. and view of the strip Cons: pricey but worth it more

Trendy & Romantic 4/5/2005

The view from this place is absolutely breathtaking! Mountains and the Strip. Can't ask for anything better. The ambience is great in the restaurant and in the lounge late-night. Of course, I may be biased..This is the place where my now husband and I first met, and the Rio even allowed us to have our wedding up there. This place is a must if you you're headed to Vegas! Pros: View, Ambience Cons: Can be pricey more

Cool Elevator Ride 7/8/2004

The ride up to the 52nd floor is great. You can see the whole Strip. The restaurant is kinda dark and elegant, but cozy. The menu is not very expansive, but it is pricey. The service was up to par and the food was nice. The best part really is it's location. Plus, the crowd is more dressed up than most other places due to it's proximity to the Voodoo Lounge. Pros: Elevator Ride more

Best Date I Ever Had :)! 3/29/2004

The place is romantic, best view in the city, the food is delicious, portions more than large, drinks superb, and the service makes you feel like a million dollars. The vibe is wonderful, its just the perfect place to take that special someone! Alright, so its a chain, and the food is nothing exotic, but the location and vibe make it really special and unique, a one of a kind experience! The restaurant definitely helped make that date the best I ever had! Pros: View, Service, Food Cons: , Band can get too loud more

Waht a find! 3/7/2003

The best seafood bisque I have ever had! The view was incredible - 50 floors over the city. The staff was warm and made us feel right at home. Our server made some excellent and honest suggestions and she was right on target. Pros: intimate, eclectic more

Meal With A View 1/9/2003

The New York Strip was fabulous. The view was magnificent. After dinner, you can walk upstairs and go onto the outdoor patio overlooking the strip. more

This is it! 8/29/2002

I celebrated my 40th birthday in Vegas this past July and this was one of the restaurants we went to for dinner. The waiter was great.....the food was fantastic, and the drink specials are out of this world......I highly recommend this place for dinner. more
