Hunt For Bargains Here! 5/20/2006

This is a great store. Its similar to Marshall Fields and Bloomingdales in terms of its setup and merchandise. It seems very expensive at first glance, but if you are paitient and hunt for deasl, there's actually many to be found! The store is huge and there are many items here for men, women, children, and even housewares. My favorite place is the little clearance room in the shoe section -- I've gotten shoes there for as low as ten dollars before! more

Von Maur is the department store for people who aren't that concerned with cost. Granted, you will have a first-rate experience while hunting for your $200 sweater, but is it worth it? My wife and I did some browsing in the store, but we just couldn't justify the price tags. Overall, the pianist, huge bathrooms with lounges, and mirrored walls give a grand impression, but I found the atmosphere to be more pretentious than luxurious. more

Upscale shopping 1/29/2006

When a department store bathroom is called a lounge, you know it's gotta be something special. At the Yorktown Von Maur, they ooze atmosphere. From the pianist almost always tickling the ivories to the enormous "lounges," VM makes your experience luxurious. And by experience, I mean charging top dollar for name brand items. Some of their clothing lines are worth it; however, I've seen plenty of their stock in Famous Barr and Macy's a good deal cheaper. So sit back and enjoy the music-- you're paying for it! more

What else can you ask for 7/29/2005

There aren't too many of these stores in the U.S. and this one is located in Yorktown mall. Von Maur has two levels, the first level always has a pianist at the grand piano entertaining. It's very lovely...I see a lot of elders just sitting and watching. Von Maur provides a variety of cosmetics, jewelry, all scales of clothes, shoes, men's accessories, purses, etc. Their shoe selection is really huge and the surrounding mirrors make the atmosphere appear bigger than it is, but it doesn't need the help. This store is for customers of all ages, from juniors to seniors. Clothes with a blue label to more expensive black label. It's never too crowded because it's just so big! more
