I have taken many pets to this vet clinic. They are competent and clean but expensive. \r \r To Cory Wright, the pit owner who wrote a bad review and wouldn't get his pet fixed: YOU, and people like you, are the reason we put MILLIONS of pets to death. Stop being so irresponsible. Your dog's genitals, or lack thereof, are not a reflection of you as a man. \r \r There is nothing wrong with declawing, either. If I hadn't declawed one of the stray cats I rescued off the street, he wouldn't have a home for 14 years. more

I am not sure where the Pit Bull issue comes from regarding Callfield Companion Animal Clinic. My Pit Bull daughter has gone to this vet since she was about 5 years old and they were nothing but wonderful to her. I had to have her put to sleep last February when she was 12 years old and the whole staff at Callfield was amazing. They knew what we were going through and they were very sympathetic to us. I would recommend Callfield Animal Companion to anyone that wants their animals taken care of by a top notch staff and veteranarians. more

I just made my mind up on where to take my jack russle...after spending over a week in the hospital and over $10,000.00... after being attacked by my mother in-law's pit bull..and yes..Cheif was a "good dog"..I don't want to be anywhere near that breed!! Good to know my back is "covered". more

I have recently been informed after giving your office One hundred and fifty dollars of my hard earned money that my pit bull mix could not be seen any more unless I had him fixed. After taking some time to think I must admit I am furious. The written policy on your website is what breeds fear in the hearts of ordinary people that know nothing about these dogs. My dogs are my best friends and part of my family. I would never teach my young children to hate or judge an animal because of its reputation. Being vets You guys failed to mention the hundreds or even thousands of pit bulls you have seen that were kind hearted and good natured. The comment on the website about urging the humane soceity to not adopt out pit bulls is rediculous. Lets say you have someone in your family that has commited a crime, would it then be ok to assume that the whole family were criminals. We were using another vet in town and my dog got very sick the other vet told me it was a virus take her home. I did and the next day she could not even walk and was throwing up and blowing out poop..I called callfield companion they told me to bring her in right then... well she had parvo they kept her for three days and we got her back perfect they are life savers...we will never go anywhere else more

We went to Callfield Companion for the first time today. I took my Golden Retriever puppy and my 7 year old Pomeranian for their regular check ups and shots. Well... when we got to the front door my pom proceeds to squat and poop all over herself. She apparently had an upset tummy if you catch my drift... her entire back end was COVERED in horrible stinky runny poo, and I mean covered. Well it gets better, she then attempts to clean her bum off by dragging it across the sidewalk right in front of the front door. At this point I'm sweating bullets and holding back tears. I couldn't take her in like that or put her back in my car (did I mention the puppy and toddler I was trying to keep calm). Not knowing what else to do, I started cleaning the sidewalk with baby wipes. Then the sweet lady from the front desk, who must have seen all of this came running out with paper towels and a trash can. She helped my clean the mess while I attempted to clean my dog. I was denied service because my dog is a bully breed. My dog has gone through obedience and agility training courses. She has been properly raised and introduced to other dogs to reduce any tendency toward territorial behavior. She was raised with a cat and we recently adopted a kitten. She is gentle and affection to both our cat and new kitten. I am shocked that people trained to care for animals could be so ignorant as to lump all bully breeds in to an aggressive category. I have taken my dog to several dog parks (which we had were I used to live) and on several occasions she was bitten by cute little fluffy lap dogs that were not properly trained. My dog could have swallowed the little dog whole, but instead ran off, not exactly the aggressive behavior the people at Callfield Companion Animal Clinic expect to see in this breed of dog. DO NOT go to this facility! With one phone call they showed their ignorance, do not risk your animals health. more

This is the BEST vet I have ever been to! Everyone there is amazing and very friendly. Our dog got attacked by a bobcat one day. I called (while sobbing on the phone) and told them the situation. They said to bring him and they would be waiting for me at the side door. As soon as I pulled up there was 3 or 4 people there waiting and carried him inside. They did an amazing job and helped keep me calm. There was no extra charge for having an emergency visit. My sister-in-law took her dog to a different vet in town and they charged her $500 for an emergency office visit! This vet is ALWAYS CLEAN and VERY FRIENDLY! They called the next couple of days to check on my dog and to see how things were going. They really do care about you and your animals. I highly recommend this vet to anyone and everyone! more

I have been going to Callfield Companion Animal Clinic since it first opened. They have given me nothing but the best care of my animals. I had 3 cats and 3 dogs. Unfortunatly 2 of my cats passed away last year, but it was Dr Elisa Spears who kept them alive as long as she did. My Sammie was 24 years old (yes, that is human years) when she passed on, and Dr Spears was the one that helped her go on to her next life. I couldn't have asked for a better vet. Compassion is sometimes hard to come by, but I know I can get it here. Dr Spears still takes care of my one cat and 3 dogs and I trust her completely with all of my vet needs. You can't go wrong with this clinic. more

Callfield Companion will only let you buy prescription medications through their office or their online pharmacy. If you try to purchase medications through a reputable, licensed pharmacy, such as 1-800-Pet-Meds, they will claim they are unable to "guarantee the source and quality of the medication." This obviously a ploy to make more money at the cost of the consumer, and is unethical. The AVMA principles of ethics say that a veterinarian should, at a client's request, authorize prescriptions instead of only selling the medication themselves. I will be switching to a different veterinarian to save $75 on my dog's medications, but more importantly, to associate with an office that is ethical. more

This is the best animal clinic I have ever been to. The office is always clean and never smells like an animal clinic. The staff and doctors are all very friendly and take very good care of the pets. We have used them for years and always receive the best care you can get. more

This clinic is by far, the best in Wichita Falls, but I would go so far as to say in Texas. They truly care about the animals. The staff always smiles when we come in and they are truly there for the pets. It is very easy to get in to see one of their great vets. Dr Schmidt made a lasting impression on me when she got down on her knees, to make my dog more secure, less afraid, on her first visit when getting her shots. more

I would not go near this vet. He brags on the net about how many cats he declaws and says he recommends it to everyone. (Google Dr. Spears name to confirm this.)\r \r Declawing cats is condemned by all major humane organizations and banned as animal cruelty in Europe, the UK, and many other countries. Why would anyone want to go to a vet who brags about committing animal cruelty? more

Dr. Spears at the Callfield Companion Animal Clinic is one of the best Vetrinarians around! He has wonderful morals and a very ethical practice. I would highly recommend his services for all of your animal care needs. more

This is a very new vet clinic, great with the animals and very friendly. Don't prescribe you things your pets don't need and their rates are reasonable. Nice facility too! PROS: Great vet clinic CONS: none more
