Vj's Avon Beauty Ctr

My daughter and I recently entered the local AVON store for the first time, located on Susan Drive in Normal. We approached a sales person and asked her a question and were shocked and amazed by this woman's sarcasm and rudeness. I was completely dumbfounded by her unprofessionalism. I love AVON products, grew up with them and am a former AVON representative. It's a shame to think people may go to this store for an introduction to this company and all of the wonderful items they sell only to be met with this kind of treatment. I would guess most people are going to run from this store and never return. I know I wouldn't dream of going back. Thank goodness for my representative so I don't have to shop there! What an embarassment to AVON. more

For Christmas I received an Avon product that I didn't much care for, so I wanted to see if I could either return it or exchange it for something different, even though I didn't have a receipt. I approached the sales lady there and asked if I could get an exchange. She replied that you could not get a refund without a receipt. That would have been fine, but she decided to rudely add that ""everyone thinks her store is a dumping ground"" and that it is her personal store. Her attitude was ridiculous and her tone was appalling! Avon is going to be losing business with this women representing them... We certainly won't be going back to that store ever again. more

On Saturday, February 27, 2010, I walked into Vj's Avon store in Normal, IL and approached the woman working and asked if she would be interested in buying a business ad for my high school yearbook. She then interrupted and said, ""Honey, 1st of all, we are closed and you shouldn't have come in here. And the budget for all of that is full and should have been done last year."" I would have understood and left in good spirits if she had not used a rude tone of voice with me. I replied, ""I did not know you were closed. Your OPEN sign is up."" Also, there were people, a family, in the store when I walked in, giving me every impression that the store was still open. I understood and respected her reasons to not purchase an ad for my yearbook, however, I did not understand nor respect the way she replied, seeing as I had neither said nor done anything disrespectful. She threw rude comments at me with the most disrespectful attitude and tone I have ever heard from a salesperson. I have never shopped at the store before, and have no intention of ever entering the store again, for I am rightly under the impression that the service recieved as a customer is as poor as the attitude I recieved as a high schooler attempting to raise money for my school. more

This VJ woman, or whoever she is is sooo rude, snaps replies and basically makes you want to run out of the store. She is really scary. Pros: Free brochures to browse, see products in person Cons: Mean Store Owner more

On May 1 of 2009 at 4:30pm, I visited an Avon retail store in Bloomington Illinois (Close to Veterans Parkway). The individual who attended us in the store had a really bad attitude. From the moment the first question was asked to the moment we left, she was real rude. Profiling my friend and I by color of our skin and accent. It started with her answers, yelling at us as if we didn't speak the language and continued screaming everytime we had a question. We left store since the attendant began harassing us as if we didn't know how to read the signs posted next to the products. We had enough of her and the store when she repeately behave like a child and treated us just like you treat a person of another race in the 50's. I would hope that your company would hire better personnel to run their stores. Based on this experience, I'm not sure I'm willing to buy Avon products. In bried moment, this kind of employee has tarnished Avon reputation and due to her action lost several customers. more
