Great food, service, location, price and personality 4/10/2011

When this restaurant opened long ago, it almost single-handedly saved the Palisades from the fate offered by other nearby places, namely, that of endless polite variations on Italian cuisine a la Chef Boyardee. The quality of the ingredients & preparation really stands out in a lot of the dishes, especially the pizza. The pepperoni, onion & sausage toppings are the best in town; you'll notice it instantly once you see it and taste it. None of that cheap stuff that all the others seem to use. Save room for real desserts too. Cozy and comfortable, with modest decor, it is a great kid-friendly place to have in the neighborhood. Not that expensive given the locale and food quality. And the garlic rolls! Great take-out on game day (night) as well! All are pleased when the pizza hits the dinner table. more

Italian cusine at its best amid a cozy vibe 7/17/2008

This place is a real gem among Italian restaurants. The whole scenery radiates an pleasant vibe. Dine and wine amid a romantic setting perfected with huge oil paintings (which picture beautiful Italian landscapes), dimmed light and wooden furniture. Basically the interior is arranged pretty modest though, however people come here for the haute cuisine the joint offers and not for fancy design. I had fusilli salmon in a rich tomato sauce. My friend had fusilli linguini in a cheese sauce. It all came steaming hot and the plates were piled generously so that we took a lot of food home. Our waitress was very friendly, vigilant, very knowledgeable and pleasantly chatty. I loved the food, it was hearty, the salmon was succulent served with al dente pasta. Pros: Food, ambience, service, vibe, family friendly, pleasant crowd, frequent celebrity po-ins more

Best Family Oriented Italian Restaurant In Pacific Palisades 7/15/2008

Italian cuisine is one of my favorites. If you just love food, this Italian restaurant, when it comes to seafood that covers your pasta, Linguini Pescadore, gives you the best and freshest ingredients that make you feel eating directly from the Riviera. Not to mention the fresh mint leaves on top to open up your appetite. And don't forget to order the youngest chardonnay to complement your dining experience.\r \r The service is great. Food service attendants are always attentive to what is going on around the dining floor area for customers' needs. And before I forget, the prices on the menu are very very reasonable.\r \r Though, it is a family oriented restaurant, I noticed many single individuals in a relationship eat there too, perhaps, not only for the excellent food but the unique atmosphere and symbol of commitment as the restaurant itself has been there for years.\r \r And you'll never know, the next time you dine in this place you will be sitting table away from a ""famous celebrity.""\r \r RECOMMENDED!!! Pros: Great Family Dining, Parking, Food Service and Friendly Atmosphere Cons: Dining Tables are set closer to one another. more

Garlic Rolls to die for 12/21/2007

The restaurant is a quaint little place. Not much glitz and glamour but the food is fantastic. The waitress was great. She was on top of things all the time. I enjoyed their fresh Salmon that melted in my mouth. The garlic rolls are to die for. They have just the right amount of garlic. The desserts are home made and fantastic. I had the cheesecake that was awesome. Pros: food and service are good. Delicious homemade desserts Cons: parking is on the street, ambience is family style, more

Bad customer service. 12/16/2007

Awful customer service. The service was so awful I think I've had better service at Denny's. This place holds a very snobbish crowd. They forgot our Pizza but brought out one persons pasta. Didn't refill our cups with water. We felt ignored. The pasta sauce was very tasty but the pasta it self was overcooked. I'm only ordering take out from this place from now on and that because Palisades Pizza is awful as well. Pros: Decent food Cons: distasteful service more

Exists because of convenience ONLY 12/10/2005

Vittorio doesn't improve because no local publications will ever say anything negative about it. Nothing is or will ever be spectacular, and some of the dishes are downright lackluster. Los Angeles is crowded with superb (and reasonable - Modo Mio in the Palisades, Locanda Portofino in Santa Monica to name two) Italian restaurants who serve more inventive, delicate, and healthy food than Vittorio for the same price. V needs to learn how to strain their pasta, to lay off the salt, to put higher quality parmesan on the tables and to make thicker sauces. It's no better than a quick marsala or pasta at home. They won't serve you at the table! You'd have to order two $16.50's to make it a family-size meal. Wealthy people may not all have taste but get things right before ripping off the local community. more

viva vittorio! 6/3/2004

I have been a regular customer of this restaurant since the 1980's. The soft, warm garlic encrusted bread knots were enough to keep us coming back, and that was the free part! My family has been loyal to this amazing restaurant for years and I'll never give it up as my dirty linguine with white clam sauce secret... Perfection! The owner has always been friendly to us with one or ten bad jokes to spare. :) and yes, throughout the years, I have seen more than one big star regular if you're into that. Pros: excellent food, neverending bread, star gazing Cons: , crowded, i get too full more
