Virginia Heating Air Conditioning and Refrigeration - Staunton

I had noticed that my water wasn’t as warm as usual so after making several calls I decided to have VA Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning come out to my home. I own a business so my hours are crazy. After Chuck arrived, I knew immediately from his professionalism that he knew exactly what he was doing. I left my home at 7:30 AM (Chuck was there at 7:00) and gave him a key to my home in case he had to get any parts. I came home at 12:30 and my water was hot, my utility room was clean, and my bill was only $250.00. Two businesses I had called told me that I was going to have to replace my unit without ever coming out to see what was wrong! I rarely give recommendations, but this time I felt the service warranted it. more

This is a quality company who was available when I needed them. They presented to one of my homes within 2 hours of my calling them. The technician was polite, respectful and charged me fairly. I had used a different company for a different property of mine awhile back and Virginia Plumbing and Heating charged me about half what the other company had charged me to remove and replace a toilet after a tenant's child threw a toy in it. They also had to snake the main drain to clear the remnants of what was thrown in the toilet. The total charge was just under $150. I am thoroughly pleased with this company and highly recommend them. more

For the last year or two because of the crazy fuel prices that we have had to deal with, I have been contemplating changing my oil-burning furnace to propane. I did my due diligence and called several companies. After thoroughly reviewing the 3 companies who actually responded and would provide a written quote, I decided to go with Virginia Plumbing, Heating and AC. The removed and disposed of the old underground oil fuel tank and oil furnace and neatly replaced the soil where the tank was as well. They installed a New 95% Efficient Goodman Propane-Converted gas furnace, helped me secure a propane fuel company and a better propane price than I was able to find on my own, and they organized everything with the new 500 gallon propane above-ground tank placement. The entire job took 2 men 3 days and it went very smoothly. Their quote came in at least $800 lower than the other 2 companies and there were no hidden or extra charges when the job was complete. Everything works great. My only regret is not having the work done 2 years ago, because the reduction in my homeowners insurance and savings in heating my home would have paid me back for the cost of this new furnace by now! more

Last weekend my hot water heater went out and I couldn't relight it. I called about a dozen different plumbers that I found in the yellow pages and online. If they were still in business, I had to leave messages for all accept 2 of them. A few quoted me prices over the phone and 3 of them said they would be out before the end of the week; however, I was able to get 2 companies to come out the same day I called. Let me remind you, I have no hot water! Va Plumbing and Heating was 1 of the companies who came out promptly even though their price for installing a gas hot water heater was clearly stated on their website as $349,including flex pipe and fittings. They also allowed me to go purchase Lowe's best 50 gallon all digital, self-diagnostic hot water heater with an 6 year warranty on parts and labor and they picked it up and delivered it at no charge! The total for the job was $919 dollars, which included the hot water heater that I did purchase myself and their labor. The next best price that I had received was about $200 more! The 2 men from Va Plumbing were knowledgeable, polite and extremely workman-like and professional. They left the work area in my basement cleaner than when they arrived! I actually purchased the hot water heater on my lunch hour and they picked it up, delivered it for free and installed it that evening when I got home from work in about 2 hours! They were so easy to work with! I am extremely happy with them and would tell my friend not to waste their time calling anyone else. They were very honest and fair, standing by exactly what they told me without any price change and could not have been anymore prompt! more

In November, I had a company out to clean my main drain when my tubs and toilets stopped draining. Well this company was at my home for under an hour and a half and charged me $300!!! 2 days later the exact same problem had recurred. I called the company, and they would not come out unless I paid them for a service call. They mentioned on the phone that they suspected that the main drain was broken and would probably need to be replaced. They wanted $95 just to come out and give me a quote on repairing my main drain and said they couldn't come out until the following day. Hello I had sewage backed up in my basement and I couldn't use my toilets or take a shower. I hung up and called around. I spoke with one other and received a lot of voice mails. Only one other company ever called back and they never came out to provide me a quote! Virginia Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning came out before the end of the same day at no charge, called me about 9 pm that evening with a price quote, and were out at 8:30 am the following morning with a formal contract for me to sign. 20 minutes later, they commenced to excavating my front lawn in order to replace and repair my home's main line sewer drain. The were in and out in 2 days and were extremely workman-like, kind and professional! I highly recommend this company because they were prompt, cared about restoring normality to my family and just performed a fantastic service. Furthermore, I paid them about $2,800, when I had received 2 ""phone quotes"" for between $4,000 and $5,000! God forbid you ever need this service, but if you do, I suggest that you call them without hesitation! I will call them when ever I need work at my home, because I trust them! more
