Vista Theater Luv it ! 7/11/2011

What can you say ! plenty of charm and history!!!! very beautiful inside and way bigger then it looks from the outside ! Friendly staff too! What I love the most is the seating there , is so much room between you and the row of seats in front of you that people can walk past you and you don't have to get up ..lol and the seat are nice as well ! so just outside of Hollywood where Sunset Blvd. meets Hollywood Blvd. more

Simply the Best! 4/2/2011

Victor, thank you for all the years of memorable movie going adventure. This theater provides trully one-of-a-kind experience! more

Hooray! 3/11/2010

I am so lucky to have this theater right by my home. Love catching a movie here - the screen is good sized, seats are comfortable. Manager is cool. All around, a great neighborhood theater. This is what every neighborhood should have! Haha but ya don't! more

Best movie theater in LA! 10/1/2009

Best movie theater in LA! Matinee tickets are only $6.50. The manager dresses up for each movie (but not for District 9 - he said the alien costume was too difficult to pull together :)). Tons of leg room! One theater, large screen. It's THE place to see a movie in the Hollywood area. Go Vista! Pros: one theater, large screen, lots of leg room Cons: difficult to purchase tickets ahead of time more

good movies food and costumes 3/19/2009

hi victor thank you for th good movies munchies and oyur costumed you ware!love francine dancer your #1fan Pros: victor Cons: transportation more

Best theater on the East Side 2/21/2009

If this place were a woman, it might be Arianna Huffington. Classy, well-proportioned, mature, and not too high-maintenance. The accent just takes it over the top. Take the $14.50 matinee Arclight money, and get you a ticket, pepsi, candy, and a large popcorn with Real Butter (tm) at the Vista. Pros: Vintage Art Deco, Cheap, Roomy, Good Movie Selection Cons: Parking can be tough more

A Real Treat 12/24/2008

I love going to the movies not sitting at home watching them. LA has really great theaters over all but this one really stands out. It's a real experience watching a movie here. Plus they only play one movie at a time which makes it feel much more special (giving it that small neighborhood vibe that Silverlake is known for). Pros: Vibe, Movie Selection, Overall Feeling Cons: Parking more

VISTA THEATER: best movies, seats, staff and audience in Los Angeles 5/31/2008

The Vista Theater, OMG if it's not playing there, then I won't see it. Conveniently located on 5 Corners (Sunset, Hwd Blvd, Virgel)The Vista plays the best of first run movies. The Vista is the only theater I go to, been going there for 25 years. I love it even more now because every other row was removed, no need to jump over people's knees. You will not find this kind of leg room anywhere else. The dolby/stereo surround sound is set at the right volume level and it has a large screen. There is not a bad seat in the house, each seat has a cup holder. It is very clean, has a great snack bar and I have to mention the staff is gracious and helpful, no nastiness here. The restrooms are small but kept clean. The audience is well behaved, no cell phones ringing and no talking during the movie. Admission is way resonable. Easy to reach by bus and by metro (rail stop Vermont/Sunset). Caution parking is tricky, make sure to read street signs. Enjoy the movie. Pros: first run movies, lots of leg room, great sound, reasonalble admission Cons: parking on the streets, make sure to read signs more

Right here in our neighborhood 5/2/2008

First class adventure, very at home experience ( careful where you park even on sundays, avoid the little permit only streets) Pros: service, atmosphere nice Cons: parking more

Great Independent Theater and Love the Restoration 11/18/2007

The Vista is a historic theater in the Silverlake/East Hollywood area that has been restored with roomier seats and an updated sound system. This is how I remember what going to the movies was like as a kid. One theater showing one movie (or sometimes a double feature) . I'd rather watch a movie here than at some generic multiplex. more

My favorite theater in LA 4/30/2007

I can't believe I'm the first to review this theater. It's the best movie experience you can have at an LA, hands down. It has an awesome sound system, cool location and it only shows 1 or 2 movies. If you want a personal theater experience, this is the place for you! No megga multiplexes.....lots of legg room andi it still has the old hollywood charm. I can say more, but you should just go and see for yourself. The Good Luck Bar , El Cholo and Tiki Ti are also just around the corner :) Pros: sound system, ambiance and the neighborhood Cons: parking more

best old world feel 2/20/2007

We went here on president's day and this is my new favorite theater. Say no to the multi plex and yes to the vista. Our city needs places like this to thrive, don't let it turn into a pinkberry!. Pros: leg room, screen, ambience Cons: parking more

Great date! 6/16/2003

I love going to the Vista. The atmosphere is very laid-back and casual. There isn't a herd of people trying to get in and out of the theatre like at the AMC's. There are two great bars within walking distance including the Tiki Ti and the Good Luck bar. Both are really relaxed, intimate places. We love to have a drink then walk to the Vista and enjoy a great movie. We saw the Matrix this weekend and the sound effects rumbled my chair! It's a great night out. Pros: decor, sound, atmosphere Cons: parking is manegable, just one movie more

The Vista 2/21/2003

A classic old Hollywood theater from the 20's. It's has legroom for a basketball team. Pros: Legroom, Sound more

not just a ""movie-viewing room""! 12/29/2002

i recently came here for the first time and was blown away - especially coupled with the fact that i saw ""the two towers"" here. the egyptian art deco interior is amazing, the high ceilings and general feel of the place make it a very enjoyable experience. a definite plus on the seeming 5-foot wide leg area. i don't know what admission is like (the date paid!) but i'm sure it's much less than at the arclight, and definitely more worthwhile. the parking situation is not the greatest, but whatever. check it out. Pros: beautiful, spacious Cons: parking/lack thereof more

Terrific Experience 11/27/2002

There are a few negatives concerning the Vista but nevertheless I marvel at what has been done to the interior. Not enough can be said for the spacious seating arrangements. Everyother row of seats have been removed leaving lots of leg room. Now if only the seats were better. The interior is worth the price of admission. Pros: low prices, great interior, roomy Cons: bad seats more

Feel the theater as it used to be 11/21/2002

Real seats, realy neat egyptian deco, this place has lots of character. A statement usualy reserved for a dorky date. But the sound system is great, the screen is big enough. The seats are great and even though it plays top movies it's often not packed. I come from Burbank to go there and it's worth it. Pros: Apnosphere, Not crowed, A/V is great Cons: Parking, a bit out of the way more

Lots of Legroom!!! 7/2/2002

A beautiful theater, very large and great sound system. Just did some renovations so the legroom is great and the seats are big and comfortable. It's only a single theater, so there's no chance you're going to hear what's going on in the next room. Great place to watch a flick! more

Great Theater for Action Films 6/13/2002

This is a great theater for action films. The floor rumbles with the action on the screen making you feel like your actually within the scenes and not just watching from the outside. I love all the leg room in the center well seating, it is truly the only theater this 6'4"" person can sit in and stretch out! The bathroom is a little small but if you get in there quickly you can get in and out fast. There really is no room for a line. I recently saw the cafe is now open next to the theater, thank God! Somewhere to rest your laurels while waiting for the box office to open. Pros: Excellent sound, leg room galore Cons: small bathroom, more movie selections more
