HOW DO I STRESS THIS ENOUGH? WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
I went to Villa's with the bride and another bridesmaid. We decided on a dress for all of the bridesmaids to wear, and ordered it. This was back in November 2008. We were told we would get a call telling us when the dresses were in. I call in March to ask if the dresses were in and the owner said no. I asked if they would be in by May 1, reason being that I live in Boston and would home that weekend for the bridal shower. I could pick it up then. She said YES. I call a few weeks later to confirm and now she tells me that it isn't in. I tell her that she will need to ship it to me in Boston and that due to the dress arriving late (remember, it was ordered back in NOVEMBER) that I would expect the courtesy of her to comp the shipping charge. I was told I would not have to pay for shipping. Well, I'm sure you can imagine what happened next. When the dress finally arrived at Villa's in June (wedding is July 11), I got a phone call to confirm my address. When I double-checked about shipping, I was told that I was now going to have to pay for shipping! I told the owner I would not, and her reply? ""NO SHIPPING? NO DRESS!"" Then she hung up on me!! In the end, after several phone calls and threats of filing a complaint with consumer advocacy, I ended up paying for shipping. The dress arrived 4 weeks before the wedding, the second week of June.
So that's what happened, but let me tell you a little bit more about the two women who run this place. I will hold back from saying their names, but they're the only two there. You can figure it out. They have to be the absolute RUDEST and NASTIEST women I have ever had to deal with in a store. I was constantly yelled at over the phone followed by the owner HANGING UP on me at least three times (that I can remember). I am shocked that this is what it came to. Once they have your down payment on the dress, they got your money and think they can talk to you anyway they want. They will put you on hold a million times, lose your contact information, and not call you back when they say they will. Not to mention lie about the shipping charge. The best I think was the last time I was on the phone with them. I told them that if they charged me for shipping, I was filing a complaint. When I finally received the dress, I called them and told the owner's assistant that they should expect a complaint. She told me to hold on because she was with a customer. I said, ""Excuse me, I am a customer!"" She then proceeded to tell me she didn't care how I felt, I should be happy that I got my dress, and then she hung up on me.
Ladies - I do not exaggerate or embellish. I am serious when I say this was the worst shopping experience ever. Everything I wrote here not only happened to me, to some degree (rudeness and shipping) happened to the other bridesmaids. Villa's does not deserve your business, and on a day as important as your wedding, you do not deserve to have to deal with Villa's. Save yourself the trip and go somewhere else. I wish I had!!
Cons: EVERYTHING
