I needed a 30,000 mile service done on my Hyundai Tucson, The dealership quoted me $470. I called Village Transmission as there were near where I live and I thought, ""They have to be less expensive than a dealership, Right?"" WRONG. They would not quote me a price up front and instead told me that they would just see what needed to be done and do only that to save the customer money. I left my car with them, and did get a loaner to use for the day (yes, that was nice). They later called me and gave me a price of about $425 to do everything but change my transmission fluid (which was included in the dealer quote). They told me that if I wanted to get my transmission fluid changed it would be $886.00! They insisted that yes, that was the correct price. I told them to skip the transmission fluid change. End result- when I brought in the dealer quote and showed them, and then applied to coupon I had received in the mail I paid about $380. I later asked a friend who works in the business what they thought. They consulted their service techs and came back wtih, ""They saw a woman who did not know about cars and costs and thought they would take advantage of the situation. I later got my transmission fluild changed and another oil change, at the dealership, for about $138.00. I will never give this place my business again.
