Village Gardens Apartments

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is NOT worth what they charge for rent. They try to make them look like nice apartments by showing you a renovated ""model"" when in fact all these apartments have is some paint slapped on the out of date materials that were used to build them. Kinda like putting lipstick on a pig. Then, when we moved out, I shampooed the carpets, they kept part of my deposit for carpet stain removal. How does that happen when I shampooed the carpet??? Also, kept the rest of my deposit for utilities, which were paid!!! This place also has a passive aggressive way of making you aware of doing things, rather than someone getting out from behind the desk and talking to you in person, they call you on the phone or leave voicemails. The only good thing about this place was that given the fact that mostly college kids live there, it is relatively quiet. Biggest dump I've lived in!! Most of the lights that light the way to parking lot are never changed. Not enough washers and dryers in the laundry room for such a large complex. more

I moved in last year and liked it for about a month. The maint. man is a jerk and every issue I had wasn't his problem. My AC never worked, the windows froze over the winter and molded up in February, the carpets were frayed and the tack strips were exposed cutting my feet numerous times. I called maintenance 5 times with no resolution. What a joke.... Now on to the horrible office manager and her little friend that works with her, both of them care only about themselves, complaints are not their problems, they are like a little clique and if you don't belong, forget about any kind of friendliness. I called JRK (The corporate office) and complained, next thing I know the office ladies kept calling and harassing me over petty things. Now on to the utilities, they are combined and you share the water bill with everyone else in the building, meaning if you lived in a building with a lot of tenants, your bill will be outrageous. The dog park is a joke as well, the lights never work and there is dog poo all over!! The pool is disgusting because parents let their kids wear diapers in and the complex never cleans it. The fitness center is also a joke and floods every time it rains hard, so its closed 80% of the time. The demo model they show was just remodeled so don't let main hallway, the stainless steel appliances, hard wood floors, light fixtures and a nicely tiled bathroom fool you because you get a nasty main hallway, horrible outdated appliances, terrible carpet, broken ceiling fans, and a nasty mold infested bathroom.
