My daughter just returned from a trip to Schenectady with her boyfriend. His mother, a Schenectady native, sent me a box of assorted pastries. WOW! I've traveled to Italy twice and I've never tasted a better pastry. After eating three different ones, I quickly got on the web site. It's under construction. Does Villa Italia mail to other states? It's the BEST!! more

Pastries to die for! 8/5/2005

I love this place. They make the best pastries. I especially love their chocolate cannoli's and this dessert that has cream in it. They also make very good cakes. I ordered a cassata cake for my son's baptism. It was a white cake with cannoli cream layered in it. It was delicious. I have never had a pastry that tasted stale or bad. They consistently do a good job with everything. One note- it is expensive. 5 or 6 pastries will run you close to $8 or $9. more

Best Italian Bakery 8/2/2005

Villa Italia has been very consistent. We usually order an Italian Rum Cake for our birthdays. Very moist - sometimes they can be dry but not at Villa Italia. Another one of our favorites is their cheesecake - very creamy. It's easy to see why they are so popular. They can be pretty busy on the weekends and around the holidays - but don't let the long lines sway you away, they actually move pretty fast. more
