My husband and I went to Villa Amalfi in their new location last night for Valentine's Day. This new location in the Hidden Valley Golf Course clubhouse left us both disappointed. There is no longer any feeling that you are at an Italian restaurant. There was no music and not much decor except a few fake plants here and there. Also, there is no seating in the lobby while you are waiting for your table unless you want to sit in the shoe shine chair. I found that strange. This location does not feel like a restaurant and seriously lacks the charm the Main Street location had. The food also left us disappointed. The bread had little taste, the fried mozzarella was bland and my pollo parmigiana was just as good as a frozen dinner. My bleu cheese mashed potatoes were cold and lacked bleu cheese flavor and my steamed vegetables needed salt because they had no flavor at all. Also, my husband's Chipotle Fettucini made him sick to his stomach. The service was okay, but when my husband needed his water refilled he had to go to the bar to get it. Our server took to long to check to see if we needed refills. After seeing my husband have to help himself to a refill, the hostess or manager then sent over a server to get us refills. When asked what I would like, I said water please. He then came back a poured water into my empty glass that I had a Coke in!! I didn't even get a new glass and you could tell there was still a little bit of Coke in the glass I used!!! It's a shame that since the move the quality of this restaurant has gone way down. I really think they have missed they mark with this new location and predict they will close sooner than later. We won't be back.
Pros: Had a coupon for a free appetizer
Cons: Lacks Italian charm, bad location
