VetSelect Animal Hospital of Novi

I just moved her from LA and went to Vet Select for my cat. They are arrogant, rude and ALWAYS make you wait 20-30 minutes before you see a doctor. An assistant comes in and takes all the info and it costs you $60 just to show up at their office! They are more interested in taking your MONEY then helping your animals. One time after paying $75 for a wellness visit I returned a week later because my indoor cat (who lives with no other pets in the house) got a respetory infection. She got it at their clinic when she was getting a wellness visit. AND they charged me another $50 for Dr. to look at her for 2 minutes!! I disliked them so much that I'm taking her records and going to Carosol Cat on Grand River in Novi!! more

I took my maltese there years ago because I got her from petland in novi, MI. Long story short she had a nasty cough and they told me to give her OTC cough medicine for people. Now I don't need to be a DVM to know that a 3 pound puppy can go from bad to worse overnight. So with me basically demanding medicine from them, she got what she needed to get better. After a few months she need 2 baby teeth removed because they were not going to fall out by themselves. So they quoted a price well over $400, I called around. The Wixom Vet Clinic quoted me $90. She had her baby teeth removed at the Wixom Vet and I have nothing but great things to say about them! Vet Select is ALL about money, please save yours and don't waste your time going to them. more

I bought my son a hamster for his first pet and it came with a ""free visit"" to Vet Select. So we took the hamster to be ""good owners"". Free visit cost over $150.00. They said it was sick and needed blood work and eye drops. I had to pay extra because a hamster is an ""exotic"" pet. Few month later it developed a turmor on it's stomach. Took it in because my son was so upset. They ran over $400.00 in tests. Pressured me in front of my distraught son to run even more. Hello, it's a hamster. they only live 1 to 2 years. Agreed to an additional $200.00 in tests and medicine to make my son fel better and the Hamster died 2 days later. I DO NOT recommend any Vet Select. The one in Commerce Township is just as bad with the pressure, costs. They want you to bring your dog in 2 times a year and neglect to tell you that the vaccinations come in an annual does and they admister a bi annual Pros: Nice Front desk Cons: Over priced/ Run tests not needed/pressure more

Treated poorly because of our financial situation. Condescending and "Holier than Thou". Made to feel like a horrible person because my financial situation had prevented me from giving my precious dog the required vaccines. Emergency situation brought me back to them for a second time and was treated similarly each occasion. Good news is that our family is prospering and we can give our dog all she needs and we found a wonderful vet. more

I was happy with the service of of this location for my cat. My first experience was for his annual check up and vaccinations. As I was considering boarding him later in the year (2009) I was told he would need a particular vaccination requiring a follow up appointment and was dissappointed to be charged another health check fee at that appointment however I like the service and care they provide my pet. I did board him here for 5 nights in Sep 09 and he seemed well cared for and I had no issues. I called while I was away to check on him and the office staff did not seem to mind that I called which eased my mind, being over 15,000 miles away! Prices are high but services so far have been great! more

I took my cat there to be declawed because our other cat is, first they didn't disclose the $50 visit fee until i had already been sitting in the room for 20 minutes, then when the doctor came in he just repeated everything the nurse had already. I felt like they were just trying to sell me tests, if I would have taken all their suggestions, it would have cost more then $500. When I told the front desk that I was upset about them not telling me about the large fee just to see the doctor, we basically got a "that's too bad answer." Needless to say we went with another vet, I will never take my animals there, they are all about money. more

I like Dr Sayles and Dr Jones i think that the 2 of them are great and very helpful and very considerate of ones pet i will take my pet to them anytime i think the hospital is ok every body not as nice as the two Dr,s i have chosen. more

I took my dog in after she had a seizure. They took advantage of how upset I was and ran several hundred dollars worth of tests. They went so far as to tell me she needed surgery. I took her to a different vet for a second opinion and she is fine. She has never had another seizure. I will never go back to Vet Select. more

I will not go back to Vetselect. The technician gave me an 'estimate' that included shots that were administered just three weeks prior because she misread the last report. When I questioned that and corrected her she said 'oh, good thing I found that'. What would have happened if my cat got the wrong shot? We were also charged for two procedures that we were not quoted for and did not request, but then were told that the procedures were performed so we had to pay. The 'FREE' follow-up visit turned into $100. more

Everyone there was friendly, helpful and very informative. They got my kitten in same day for an appointment. My only complaint is that the prices are steep (as most vets are) and they do not have a payment plan. more

they have great staff staff. they called my dog by name and the vet actually played with my dog before she examined her. I would recommend getting pet insurance from them though. it saves alot if you have a dog with allergies. more
