Went to Vesta last Saturday for the 1st time with my boyfriend. We sat outside. Gave our order. Every thing was good up to this point. 30 minutes later, no appetizer and no sight of the waitress. A 2nd waitress came to our table and apologized for the delay and said that they switched tables and that she would be serving us. We explained to her that we already put in our order 30 minutes ago. *****The place was not even busy. ***** 10 minutes later our appetizer showed up. The Poke Salad was not tasty, looks like the chef cut up the tuna and dripped some soy sauce on the salad and fish. Was really disappointed. Then our meal showed up. I had the Hamburger. The bun was COLD, the meat was COLD and the sweet potato fries were cold. I shared this to the waitress. She apologized and said she was ""so sorry."" 3 minutes later....My SAME hamburger on the plate was brought back to me. This time, the patty was in 4 pieces, the buns still COLD and my sweet potato fries were double fried, burned, and brown. **I couldn't believe the waitress would even come back with this plate for me to eat*** I was really really disappointment. I was hungry, tired from our motorcycle ride up to Ojai and let the waitress know that I really couldn't eat this. Overall, if I could, I would give this place a -5 star (negative 5 star) I hope the OWNER or MANAGER of this ESTABLISHMENT would take this restaurant business more seriously and retake CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES. and HOW TO COOK RESTAURANT FOOD 101. Don't drive all the way to Ojai to have tea unless you have 3.5 hours to spare. My friends and I ended up with mediocre, store-bought, overpriced and DELAYED food. We waited an hour to GET our food and then waited AN HOUR to get our check. \r 1) 2 consecutive parties had their food and left before we did. \r 2) Their menu items were not all served! Only when we asked our server did she tell us the kitchen was too busy and just gave us what they had. \r 3) Their bathroom was flooded after they prepared a makeshift water bowl from a CAKE PAN for a customer's dog----2 feet from the TOILET!\r 4) They didnt bring us other things we ordered and simply forgot! \r 5) You go to a teahouse for cool and interesting tea, they gave us Tazo tea, something i could have got at starbucks for $2\r 6) Their scones could compete with NFL pigskin and last but not least \r 7) I had to move my car from a 2 hour parking spot because this is how long is took for us to have TEA!!! Tea, not a sit down lunch or dinner---TEA!! The manager was rude and unaccommodating for such a great city and we were upset at her poor customer service.\r \r But our server was great! Unfortunately she works for such bad management and she was terribly overworked and understaffed. She was great, but the bad taste is still left in my mouth for the Vesta Home and Hearth Tea Room. Cons: Waste of time, driving and money more
