AWESOME!! 10/12/2011

I went to see Toby Keith and Eric Church however about 4 weeks before the concert I broke my knee!! Everyone there was super nice they rode me on a golf cart to my seat and back out to the parking lot!! I never expected to be treated so well!! \r The staff were all so nice and the concert ROCKED!!\r I can't wait until I get to walk into the next concert!!\r more

You've REALLY got to love a performer to go to this place. 8/6/2011

I see a lot of live music but usually avoid this place like the plague. Occasionally I go to a show here because we have a tailgate party.\r \r The parking lot does not open until 5pm which limits tailgating parties. \r \r Lawn seats feel like they are in the next county. You must bring binoculars.\r \r No shelter and hot NC summers are killer.\r \r If you buy multiple beer and look like you have already had a few, they will steal an extra $5 from you in change. They tried to steal from me every time and so I guess they do for everyone. As if $14 beers wasn't already stealing!\r \r $6 for a pepsi.\r \r People arrive early and stake some lawn with blankets but when the show starts, everyone rushes in and stands up. It's not at all like you would think to lounge on a blanket and watch a show.\r \r Music quality is terrible in the lawn.\r \r I know it's crazy expensive but if you can, buy a seat as close as you can. Although there are no really close seats for sell from the very start. Live Nation & Ticketmaster will sell those on scalper sites. Fans can not buy a close seat.\r \r Parking fees for every single person in your car. Rip off fees and service fees to gouge you for every dollar they can. They are random numbers too, like a $5.45 fee, as if that number has anything to do with anything outside of how much they think they can get away with gouging.\r \r As soon as the show is over, be prepared to drive even if you need a little time because the rent a cops will be all over you. \r \r All in all, about the worse way to enjoy a concert. Choose a better venue. more

Great Outdoor Amphitheatre! 6/26/2010

I have seen major acts at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC and was able to get seats up close if I wanted to spend the money. Patrons can pick their price and in this economy you can't see a show anywhere for less. If you are on a budget, just take a blanket and choose a lawn seat for $10. Some artists really don't need the money from a huge, pricey arena. They choose to perform at smaller venues to please the fans. I have seen Fleetwood Mac, KISS, Sting, Annie Lennox, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, and many others at this place and have always had a great time. Ticket prices range from $10 to $160 depending on where you choose to sit. The food vendors are great with lots of variety. You won't go hungry here! You can take a break and walk over to sit down and eat at a table. You won't find that at a Colosseum. I love Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and highly recommend it. Just remember to dress for the weather. Summer nights in the South are usually HOT and if you decide to dance and go wild it can feel like you had a workout at the gym. I have always felt rejuvenated. The shows are usually longer than the ones at the indoor arenas too! Pros: Attracts major talent in the music industry. Cons: Parking, but not bad for an outdoor venue. more

Realy Bad Experience 7/13/2008

Although my wife has been to the pavillion many times before and enjoyed it, I went for the first time on \r July 11 to see Tom Petty. Instead of the relaxed, ""stretched out on the Lawn"" experience I expected, it was \r a jam packed, over sold, shoulder to shoulder nightmare. The chaos was both scary and dangerous.\r I will not be back.\r Instead I'll keep my eye on the amphitheater in Birmingham, Alabama. It's outdoors, also. My wife and I saw\r Tom Petty there around 3 or 4 years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. 180 degrees From our experience \r in Charlotte. Pros: Easy access from Highway....Host Good Artist.. Cons: Lawn area was supercrowded----Wondered if tickeds oversold? more

No Service on the Big Screens 5/7/2008

For the 1st time in 12 years I left the husband and kids at home so I could go to a concert and ""enjoy"" myself.\r Well imagine my sticker shock when I had to pay 4.00 for a bottled water. That was ok with me tho' because I was going to see Kid Rock, and it was worth every penny. Yeah, that was my thinking, until he stepped on stage and was no bigger than a dot from my section of the lawn,I tell my friends we will be able to see him on the big screens, this is 2008 and we have the big screens at all concerts (at least they do in Greensboro). But for what ever reason the Screens were not working? \r How can a money cow like this not keep the equipment working properly.\r It totally ruined my whole experience.\r I want my money back.\r If a live person would answer the phone I'd ask for a full refund.\r I would have never considered going to a concert that I would not be able to see!\r This joint gets 1 star from me, that's all it takes to unlock the doors!!!! Pros: the gates were open Cons: faulty equipment, monitors not working more

Great outdoor amphitheater 5/14/2007

This is my first time attending Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Chlt. \r \r I must say that the security was top notch. I didn't have to worry about people crashing the front of me that didn't belong there. They did a good job making sure people were in their correct seats and STAYED THERE! That made the experience even better. T\r \r here was not a lot of traffic coming or leaving the concert. I would advise you to spend the 20.00 and preferred parking- We were out of the parking lot in 20 mins ! Record time. \r \r Bathroom lines moved fast. They could be cleaner, but what do you expect with 1,000 's of people? Beer price was about avg. I would advise doing your own tailgate and skip the 8.00 beer. \r \r Overall very happy and the best Amphitheatre that I have been too. Way better than Raleigh.\r \r This is about my experince at the 5-12-07 Gwen Stefani concert. Pros: secruity Cons: bathroom cleaniness more

totally wrong 4/16/2007

Below is my previous review of Verizon but since then I have to say that the experience was anything but decent. We have wheelchair accessible country megaticket and at the last concert there was several problems. First one of the event staff talked to us as if we were complete idiots because we wanted to go a certain way that we go every time since 2005 and he would not let us. Then when we finally get to our seats we find out that the way the stage was set up we were not going to be able to see. I can stand but the other could not and was not able to see anything on stage. Some of the staff was helpful and tried to resolve this problem and others such as the GENERAL MANAGER were rude and let others do the run around for him. We ended up by a trash can under a screen out in the middle of nowhere. Do not buy accessible seats up close because you'll probably have to move back or you won't be able to see because security does not make the people who come from the back move out of the way.\r previous review I have been to several concerts here and plan on going back for more. The staff is friendly and it is wheelchair accessible. There are also relatively clean bathrooms for a ampitheatre. If you go, go early enough to get good parking and there is a lot of traffic after the show but if you leave early you miss the last part of the show and sometimes thats the best part, so don't worry about traffic. Non professional cameras are usually allowed. Water, however; is expensive and they allow you to bring in your own as long as it is unopened when you enter. Pros: clean bathrooms and great shows Cons: drinks expensive, some rude staff more

OK venue, but be sure to leave REALLY early 9/11/2005

I saw the Coldplay show on 9/9/05. Show itself was good, which it should have been for the $165 I paid for pavillion seats thru Ticketmaster. Bathrooms were clean, and I was happy with the view/acoustics from my seat. And now the bad part...I live 20 minutes from the venue, but it took 2.5 hours to get into the parking lot. Traffic was backed all the way up onto I-85. I left my house at 7:00pm, and parked at 9:30pm. I am not exaggerating, I promise you. Got into the venue just as Coldplay took the stage. Leaving the venue was only slightly better, we just sat in the car for an hour until it thinned out. The ""getting there"" experience was so painful, I really doubt I'd ever go back. Pros: Big name acts, Clean facility Cons: Traffic, Traffic, Traffic more

Santana Show 6/8/2005

The show was great. Some of the big screen TV's did not work. Food and refreshments are really high (7.50 to 9.00 for a beer). Overall, I thought the place was extremely clean. Never had to wait in the rest rooms, workers were courteous. Got out of the parking lot quickly. Pros: Good Music, Clean, good parking Cons: all drinks are high, seats in grass ?, T V's don't work more

Don't Waste Your Time or Money 1/1/2003

Very bad experience, unfriendly people, overall the place was dirty. more

decent venue 6/21/2002

I saw pearl jam here in 2000. it's a nice venue. just like most of the typical outdoor ampitheaters that have sprouted up in recent years. I was coming from out of town so I have to say it was pretty easy to find, signs directing to the venue were good, and parking surprisingly wasn't that bad. more

Great Show/ Rude Workers 6/15/2002

We just recently seen the brooks and dunn show. The show was great, the seats were great. Our tickits said the show started at 3:30 it did not start till 5:15. A bottle of water cost 3.50 and a bottle of beer cost 7.00 that is crazy. But the show was pretty good. Pros: good seats, good sound, vip parking Cons: Crowded, Expensive refreshment, rude workers more
