As a bridesmaid who lives out of town, I had to call in the measurements and order my dress over the phone. What should have been a 5 minutes process, turned in to 25 minutes. Not only did the lady REPEATEDLY put me on hold, but she was EXTREMELY rude during the frequent, brief interactions. I am not going to tell my bride the hell I got, but as a warning to other brides-to-be, don't put your bridesmaids through this. (Another bridesmaid from the same party went in store the day before and got the same poor customer service. ) more

They have many beautiful gowns with lots of choices which I loved. The prices of their gowns are very reasonable. First initial appointment went great and after trying on 20 other gowns at other salons I found the perfect one here at Ventura's! Overall I was happy with the service but more than happy with my gown and the choices and prices offered. more

I loved the sales consultant -I believe it was Jessica I knew exactly what I wanted and the lady was very helpful! I did have a budget and she did pull above my price range but I did end up buying the dress because it was so beautiful! I would suggest them to anyone! more

Ventura's bridal was the perfect one stop shopping experience for all my bridal needs. I was able to get the perfect wedding dress, veil and jacket all within my budget. In addition, I got all my alterations at the same location without any problems. Would highly recommend them. more

Get married in jeans before you buy your dress here! 5/17/2012

There should be an option for negative stars... AWFUL! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!!!!! To start, I ordered by dress in mid November for my late April wedding. I was ASSURED the dress would be here on time. I was also told that I would be placed at the top as far as priority alterations. However, 23 days before my wedding, my dress WAS NOT IN AMERICA. My consultant, Cris, called me 2 hours before my appointment for my first fitting (that they scheduled just ""assuming"" the dress would be here) to cancel the fitting. When I asked for an explaination, she said she was busy and would call me back. She never did. I called back the following day and ended up talking with the OWNER of the company, Mrs. Ventura herself. She was nothing but rude. She ended up yelling at me, the customer, and telling me that they were just ""over booked"" so even after the dress got here they ""couldn't guarentee it would be altered in time."" They were never able to tell me when my dress would be here. They REFUSED to give me a tracking number, even after they promised me it was in America. It was all a bunch of lies. THEN..oh yes, this gets better..they told me I had to call and check up with them. Apparently they cannot do their own jobs. So fine, I called to check up the following week and they ""lost me"" in their system. They couldn't even find where I had ordered the dress at all. Awesome organiational skills, might I add. They finally find my information, and by this time I have decided to take it elsewhere for alterations. I go to pick up the dress and....that's right...they lose it again. I get there, after I have been told it is IN THE SOTRE and they cannot find my dress, wedding date, not even my name. It was the WORST experience of my entire wedding. If I had it to do over again, I would get married in jeans before I would go to Ventura's...as it was, I almost had to do that anyway. Awful. more

Best shopping experience 5/16/2012

Just had the BEST wedding dress shopping experience EVER at Ventura's with Crystal! She made the experience and without her, I probably wouldn't have bought my dress yesterday! Thanks Crystal!! more

So much fun 5/9/2012

In less than 2 hours, Adriana helped me find my dress. She made it so much fun and much more than just finding a dress. I got a call from her on Monday saying my dress was in...it wasn't due till July! Now I can get my bridal pictures done just in time for the wildflowers! more

Found my favorite dress 4/25/2012

Jeanie with Ventura's made the wedding dress experience so wonderful and laid back. After going to many different stores, we ended up finding my favorite dress (an all Alencon lace sheath dress) at Ventura's. It was a great price (much cheaper than other options) and I received many, many compliments! They were very flexible in the fittings process and worked with my schedule very well! more

This place is horrible ! "" My consultant "" was more into herself than finding me my dream dress. She kept looking at herself in the mirror and staring at her long colored finger nails. How can someone who is in the fashion industry b so tacky?!! I kept telling her what I wanted and she would bring the opposite. When she finally brought the right one back, she proceeded to tell me that I would have to buy that one and they would not order me a new one. It was ripped and had stains on it!!! My wedding is 9 months away - what do u mean it won't b here on time?!! There is an older lady in the store yelling loudly at a couple of employees. I felt so uncomfortable being there. My consultant just stood there and smirked. If u want a consultant that doesn't care about your needs - just her funky nails and or a place that's smells this is your blessing . If u actually care about your wedding run far away!!! more

Before Going Read This 1/2/2012

The groom chose this place because it was close to his mother's home, and not because of what they have, price, or customer service. I was not involved in this area of the wedding because I had my dress made, extacly how I wanted it. I did not have a good feeling about this place and I did not come to this site write about it. But I seen several post and thought I would give my experience here. This is not the best place to go for your formal event. Go somewhere else. The customer service is a reflection of the outside and the surroundings. Although the groom, now husband twenty years later admits that he is not good a choosing a place that is descent and he would rather I do it. Thank goodness he allow me to choose places from now on. more

Non-existent customer service once they have your money 12/5/2011

I never thought I would get THE feeling when I found my wedding dress. But I did at another nicer bridal salon. It was the first bridal salon I went to, so I wanted to see if Ventura's would have it for a less expensive price, since they do operate out of an industrial warehouse. At my Ventura's appointment, I fill out the questionnaire about what style and color gown I am looking for, which is ivory and mermaid. I even show the saleslady, who is helping me, the photo of me in the ivory dress at the other salon on my iphone. She then tells me they have that exact dress! And for a cheaper price! She has me try on the exact dress, except that it is white not ivory. She also tells me that it will take 2-3 months for it to come if I order it, so I don't have much time. I purchase/order the dress, thinking I am getting my size 4 ivory gown. 2-3 weeks later, I get a phone call letting me know my dress has come in. What pressure buying tactics they use!!!! It did not take months to come in! I try on the gown and see that it is white, NOT ivory, as I had requested. I politely request that they take this white dress back to exchange it for the ivory color I had requested. The same saleslady had the audacity to tell me it doesn't come in ivory, and even pretends to call the manufacturer/designer to verify this blatant lie!!!!! The designer's website has the gown available in ivory!!!! And I have photos of me in an ivory gown!!! They said they would not exchange or refund my money. I was stuck with the dress... Ventura's gives a facade of decent customer service initially and pressure tactics to try to convince you to buy a gown. After they have your money, they dismiss you and their customer service is non-existent!!!!!! To the point where they lied to my face!!!! I am no Bridezilla, and decided to just accept the fact that they have terrible business practices. I ended up wearing the white wedding gown since I paid for it already. After all, our wedding day is a day to celebrate our love and marriage with each other and family & friends....not about a dress. If I could give zero stars, I would. I should have bought the dress from the other salon, not Ventura's. The couple hundred dollars more on the dress would have been well worth it!!!! Beware future brides of Houston!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!! more

great customer service 10/10/2011

I called to rental a tux on monday for an event for the upcoming saturday. Talked to Kwanza Winslow , who was extremely helpful and polite. Told to come in tuesday, no extra charge for it being last minute.GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE . PLEASE GO HERE FOR YOUR NEXT TUXEDO rental or purchase. more

Definitely will recommend this place. If you are looking for unique designer name dresses, you will find it here. I was very fortunate to get my dress off the rack for $200! Love this place. Brenda and the owner was very sweet. more
