I was happy to find out they did house calls b/c I had a small very visible rip in my new couch. My pillows are attached and I didn't want to move the whole couch to a shop. Michael was prompt to come by, check it out and give me a great price estimate. I was thrilled and scheduled an appointment right away. Fast forward 4 weeks and 3 missed appointments, my couch still isn't fixed.
The first time we set an appointment, I rearranged things at work and sat home for over an hour past the time he was supposed to show up- no call no show! I finally called and got through to be told he forgot to update the appointment in his book- he was sorry and we rescheduled for the following Saturday.
Saturday came and went, only to be met with the same thing, no call, no show! He lost track of time, was too busy working on something and again, I sat home for over an hour waiting for nothing. Shame on me at this point b/c I decided to reschedule one more time (3 strikes right?).
This weekend we expected Michael at 11. I called to reconfirm this time- left a message. I was SHOCKED to get a call back but it was to tell me he was running late, could we do it at 2ish. I could not due to an appointment so asked to do it 3:30-4, he confirmed.
Then he called at 2 saying "please tell me you are home, now". I wasn't and said I needed to keep our original 3:30 time.
At 3:15 we raced home to ensure we were here. I even called at 3:30 to tell him I was around the corner in case he was there promptly. The joke was on me, not only did he not answer, he never showed up, and did not bother to call with any type of excuse. Strike three. What a horrible business practice and how irresponsible of someone trying to run a business in these times. The joke is on him at this point, b/c we also decided to install $2,500 in roman shades in our new home that we planned to order with Michael if the couch turned out. We have now confirmed the order with a much more reliable company.
