Sophisticated Eatery in the Heart of Monroe 9/15/2007

The decor is beautiful, service is fair, & most importantly the food is outstanding! The menu offers a gourmet sampling for people that want a top end meal without having to travel for it. If your idea of fine dining is White Castle then Velvet Monkey is obviously not for you. This restaurant features a special martini list which is a perfect way to start your experience. The menu is alla-carte with appetizers at 8.00 or 9.00 and entrees from 18.00 to 26.00. This place is worth a return trip. more

poor service, poor food, pretentious owner, over priced and over rated.......you choose the words to best describe it......i could not wait to go to a white castle and shock my tastebuds back to life. i guess you could call it a once in a lifetime experience Pros: ambiance and local flair Cons: owmership, food and service more
