NOT READING FILES 7/27/2010

I am seriously considering taking my dog elsewhere.\r \r A few years ago, my dog had a rabies shot. Shortly after returning home, her face blew up like a balloon. Being a pug and by nature having a hard time breathing, I called the et, gave her benadryl and brought her back to see Dr. Dan. He couldn't determine if it was from the shot or a bee sting, so he made a note on her file to have benadryl before ANY shot.\r \r A few years later, ( Dr. Dan is now gone) my dog went back for a checkup and a rabies shot with Dr. Lightbody. I left, brought her home, and don't you know it her face swelled up like a balloon. I brought her back, and to say the least, was beyond angry with the Dr. and her attitude!!!\r \r When Dr. Lightbody entered the room she said " Well you don't look very happy." Are you kidding me?? My dog was on the verge of not being able to breath, why wouldn't i be upset??? She then admitted to NOT READING the file and totally missed the note on giving benadryl before her shot. She more

Don't go here 10/9/2009

Why would a vet who thinks an 11 year old cat may have renal failure make a person have the cat go through every test (xray, ultrasound, blood test) and have a bill of four figures for one day. All that was needed to determine this was a blood test. The doctor took advantage of a heartbroken cat parent. My cousin was new to the area and wasn't aware of other vets like the one in Revere on Broadway that is decent. So this morning the cat had to go back to the vet because he was in distress. After trying to talk about possible options - of which there is really only one. The place charged $179 to euthanize the cat... are you kidding me? Stay away - once this place lost Dr. Dan if became a corporate nightmare. Maybe they get commission for each test?? Sure felt like that today! Pros: they have doctors Cons: Everything else more

Great Pet Care 12/17/2008

VCA Everett Hospital, previously known as Dr. Dan's and Wholepet Vet Hospital is wonderful. The staff, especially the receptionists and technicians are friendly, warm and are truly animal lovers. It is amazing how they can calm down a frightened animal. Dr. Dan was my favorite Vet, but since he left, it took a while to adjust to the new doctors, but they have given my pets great care. When I lost my baby to old age they were extremely sensitive to our grief and handled the process with grace and dignity. They even gave us a memento of an angel charm as a memory. The only "con" I have is sometimes they try to sell extra's that you don't need or want, but it seems like most veterinarians do this now a days, and at least they accept your no thanks. If you havea sudden emergency or illness with your pet, they get you in right away and their location is very convenient, right offf rte 16 and there is plenty of parking, plus a little rocky area, in case your pet needs to releive themselves prior to the visit. Your pets are in good hands at VCA Everett. Pros: The Technicians more

They care about our pets. 9/2/2008

Since an incident with my cat back in 1993, I have always trusted Dr. Dan. In an emergency they took my cat in with only payment for the office visit. They stabilized him and amputated his leg, provided round the clock care for several days, supplied him with antibiotics and set up a payment plan to fit my limited income. Snuggles lived a long and healthy life as an indoor cat from then on.\r \r Years later and back in the area, I was hoping for the same dedication to pets when I adopted a rescue dog. I love the facility that now houses Wholepet Health Center but their continued dedication to the health and well-being of our non-human family members including our American Staffordshire Terrier, our bearded dragon and our guinea pig is what will keep me coming back and recommending people to them for all their veterinary needs.\r \r Not only will they provide every veterinary need for your pet, their well rounded and dedicated staff provide every veterinary need for ALL of your pets. more

Great experiences at WholePet! 8/17/2005

I highly recommend this health center for your beloved pet! Super clean facilities and a VERY down-to-earth, personable and equally knowledgeable staff. One of the best things about this place is that they recognize that every one has a budget and will give you the price of procedures, medications, etc. before just taking the initiative and going ahead with administering them. They even offer price alternatives such as recommending cheaper methods and giving a great explaination about them, as well. The hours were wonderful, too. Open until 9:00 PM! Some one is always available to call in case of an emergency, too! My dog ate something she shouldn't have and the helpful, friendly tech walked me through the whole process of how to handle it over the phone and was so soothing throughout (I was very nervous!) A+++ Wholepet! PROS: helpful, friendly staff, great hours, happy pets CONS: comparable prices, no great price deals more
