Tried this salon based on recommendations, but I was very disappointed. They say they book you with "" a lot of time"" with a skilled stylist, and a color consultant will be available but they don't. The young gal I saw only have time do an all over color or highlights but not both. So with a colorline I was forced to do an all over color to get rid of the colorline, but it looks very, very colored. I didn't get the weaved in dimensional color I wanted. Not the best of Clark County by any means, especially for $180! more

Both myself and my husband have been loyal fans of Jenne Grogg for years; I know we're not the only ones. Due to the fact that she's consistently booked, we were shocked to have learned that she was recently fired after 6 yrs.with Vata. Good luck without her!!! more

STAY AWAY 3/27/2011

My hair got butched yesterday, and they requested I come back to have it ""fixed"" by the person who did it, (who obviously does not know what they are doing) or pay more money to have someone else repair it. That's their customer service! more

The moment I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly staff. The salon was beautiful and my stylist was fabulous with my highlights and cut. I will be recommending many friends and family! more

I had my hi lights and hair cut there and was so happy I did. Its a few dollars more then most places but well worth it. The girl listened carefully and asked the right questions and surpassed my hopes. Its been a while since that's happened! Pros: Feel pampered and listened to Cons: Nothing more

By far the best in Clark County 2/18/2009

Ive been going to Vata for a year now and have had amazing results with the 2 stylists ive seen. Ive tried other salons in Vancouver & Camas with no success. I went to Vata on a referral and dont see ever leaving. I highly suggest trying them at least once! Pros: Skilled hair dressers, beautiful salon. Cons: none come to mind? more

I tried Vata because of the Aveda name, and I keep going back because these stylists really know what they are doing!\r Katie does an awesome, thorough job and doesn't skimp on the time she spends with each client. You'll get a beautiful cut. And color is amazing! I've never trusted a salon to do my color before, but after Katie gave me several excellent cuts, I recently went in and said, ""give me color"". I let her choose what would look good on me, and she ROCKED it.\r Now I get compliments all the time, because the color she chose is so beautiful, brings out my eyes, and makes my skin tone look lovely.\r Katie's my beauty secret! Pros: Classy, professional staff who REALLY know their stuff - no pressure to buy product Cons: salon's a little small more

Returning Customer, Got Highlights, VERY Happy With Results! 10/5/2008

Beautiful, professional beauty salon; great environment. I had my hair trimmed, layered and highlighted twice at Aveda by Courtney. I was VERY happy with the results both times. My haircut turned out just the way I wanted, and looks fabulous! My first time getting highlights, I was scared to get it done, but was not disappointed. The trim and highlights were expensive, but it was worth the money! These people know what they're doing! I now live in Tigard, but make the pilgrimage every 4-5 months to get my hair done by Courtney. Pros: Skills, Quality, Service, Scalp Massage, Results Cons: None yet! more

Verry Pleased 5/14/2008

I picked Vata out of the phone book because it was in walking distance to my office. I had an upcoming wedding and my hair had been destroyed by years of dyeing.\r \r I could not have been happier with the haircut ,color, and customer service. Courtney took into consideration my particular hair when suggesting a cut, and the color was amazing. In fact other sylists came by and commented on the beautiful highlights.\r \r I think I paid a little more then other salons ive been t, but it was definitley well worth it!\r Pros: Smiling Faces everywhere. Cons: A bit pricey.....not to bad thou. more

This is a professional and lovely place-i found better that Dosha-and the prices at Dosha are not worth your time. They might give you a hand massage, but that is not worth 25 more dollars for 5 minutes.\r The salon is smaller, however the one on one attention is fabulous. After reading the good reviews (and figuring the bad ones are either from generally grumpy people or ex employees trying to get even) I decided to give this place a try. I would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere a little more trendy and up to date. While the rest of Vancouver is severely lacking in trendiness this place hits the nail on the head, I could tell the gal that did my hair knew what she was doing. She spoke with knowledge about the products and showed me how to re-create my hairstyle at home. Front desk people were friendly and didn't try to cram a sale down my throat. So all in all I think this is a great place for cut and color and you should at least give it a try once. Pros: Stylists with advanced training Cons: mall location and its always booked for last minute more

AVOID VATA AT ALL COST! 4/17/2008

They have the worst customer service. I have never been treated so badly before in my life. The stylist are rude and disrespectful to the point of being discriminating. \r \r The owner Holly may verywell be a nice stylist but she is a horrible person to give store complaints to. I cannot see how the mall would allow them to get away with these anticts. She is obviously new to owning a business and it shows. She is going to lose customers (what we told her) BUT she obviously does not care (she gave this feeling to us). I will Never EVER EVER go there again and I recommend you do not either. Try 22 changes off of Mill plain. VATA IS HORRIBLE! Pros: Good Cut Cons: Horrible Customer Service and stylist is RUDE more

After reading the other reviews on city search i gave the salon a chance and was not let down. Im always freaked out when going to a new salon so this was a big leap for me and I am so glad I did. more
