Vassar Automotive

I am a single female and have been bringing my car to Vassar Automotive for seven years. Fred, the owner, doesn't try to rip you off and is very up front about costs and what really needs to be done. I have never had to go back with any complaints or problems. My car is always done on schedule and Fred is very friendly and personable. The shop is amazingly clean and they always explain everything to me so I know that I am getting what I pay for. I didn't think that a repair shop could be so professional and trustworthy! Fred, of Vassar Automotive, came highly recommended to us from an autobody place we'd liked. We haven't been disappointed. We were looking for a mechanic to do our general maintenance on our two vehicles, somebody who would be fair, honest, and not too hard to get an appointment with. We haven't been disappointed. We've been using Vassar for about 2 years and have no problems or complaints. The work is always done when said, and Fred is very good about letting us know what maintenance may be coming up, can be put off, or needs to be done NOW so that we can plan accordingly for our finances. Cars aren't cheap to maintain, but at least we feel we're paying somebody who's earning it and deals with us fairly. They only drawback is that there is not a convenient place to drop your car before they open- which is hard for us since they don't open until 8 or 8:30 and my husband has to be at work by 7- same scenario for their pickup.
