google: Henry Moses, Faye Dunaway...she went to court against him in August! I am doing more research and just found out about Faye Dunaway's case with this slumlord!! Check out his attitude and comments, he is unbelievable. I hope this scum bag Henry Moses soon gets exposed by some news networks!! I guess I'm not the only one who has to deal with bugs, collapsing ceilings and horrrible conditions! more

I find all of this very hard to believe. I've lived in 2 of their buildings (114 e 1st st and 433 e 80th) and never did i have anything but a top notch rental experience. The apartments were both brand new, and when i did have a small issue with my water pressure, the super, who lives downstairs, fixed it within 24 hours. I think you just have to ask nicely and not bother them for stupid things like changing a light bulb and you will be glad you rented from them... more

Have had nothing but trouble with them since moving out. They refuse to return our security deposits even though there are no damages to the apartment and say it is our responsibility to get it from the new tenants who have moved in. The new tenants will no pay and Vanderleigh couldn't care less. I have not lived there for 2 months and have not yet seen a dime of my money and they now hang up on me every time I call. The receptionist Roberta is a horrible woman who doesn't know anything about renting laws, and Angela Moses is lazy and willing to rip you off at any chance. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. ONLY LIVE HERE IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO LOSE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT IN FULL FOR NO DAMAGES. They are truly terrible people. more

Be careful before renting from them (Vanderleigh Properties, Henry Moses Jr.). Their buildings are seriously neglected (dirt, rats, no heat) and they act belligerently once you are a tenant.
