Best

I've been coming here literally since birth. My parents went here as kids and I know the place better than my own house.

Worst

Not only is it over $31/person but you pay for parking too! Clean facilities, long lines, Imax is only good for the AC both shows were worth missing. One working ATM in whole park...

Awesome Experience! 11/24/2002

Seen 'Santa Vs. The Snowman' in 3D, It was very funny. Pros: Giftshops, Minnesota Zoo, Free Parking more

Absolutely LOVED VF as a kid! 10/11/2002

I remember going to Valleyfair almost every single year, starting when I was 4. When I was a young teen I remember the price being about 15.95 and thought that was a perfect price. It seems that the price keeps going up every year! The last time I was at VF was 2 summers ago when PowerTower went up(wait, maybe that was 3 years ago?) But the food is also expensive and paying for parking sucks too. You also have to pay for everything do at Challenge Park. And that is also expensive. But atleast you don't have to pay for the Waterpark anymore. That is super fun!! Bearenstein Bear Park is creative and fun for kids. VF's shows are ok, not the best. But is a very fun park and I have lots of good memories from it, it's just too bad it's so expensive now. Pros: rides are great!, fun memories Cons: pay for parking, need more bathrooms, too expensive 2 enter more

Tourist? Why spend time at Valley Fair? 9/3/2002

There are better ways to introduce someone to MN than take them to Valley Fair. Go for a bike ride, drive down 61. Amusement parks are fine, but you can visit one anywhere ( and VF isn't that great compared to so many others!). more

Excellent Outing. Tips Included 9/1/2002

I was surprised at how much fun our family had at Valley Fair. I considered Valley Fair, from my teen years, as mainly an ultimate teen experience. But my daughters age 7 and 4 had a blast. Some tips for families: 1)Arrive early. Crowds do not get heavy until 1:00PM. 2)Start with milder rides. The Carousel and the Scrambler are ideal. 3)Take a break to you car for your lunch brought in a cooler (to save money). Return to mild rides like the Train Ride and Floom. 4)Pre-schoolers love the overlooked but excellent half-pint park, with Mild Thing, Frog Hopper, etc. 5)This is a good time to split up by age so the other parent can bring an older child to the centerpiece - Wild Thing (one of the 10 best coasters in the world). The picture keychain may be memorable. Pros: The Wild Thing, kiddy ride area, for teens or families Cons: A little expensive, look for coupons more

Holy Price-Hike, Batman! 8/20/2002

WOW! $31.95/day for an adult?! It may be an unfair comparison, but Walt Disney World in Orlando is currently $48/day. Valleyfair is nowhere near 3/4 of Disney World's value. The attractions are admittedly quite fun. The Wild Thing is one great roller coaster, as is Excalibur. The latter ride is 2min-13sec long (according to Valleyfair's website) but it feels like it lasts less than 30 seconds after the long, slow hill climb. Be prepared for upwards of a 30 minute wait for most coasters on most days. Weekends are usually longer. (I'll never understand why they'll only run one of the rollercoasters when there's a 20 minute wait in the lines. Very aggrivating. And way too often!) One more gripe: even with the high door price, they make you PAY for PARKING! Ultimately, I enjoy my visits to Valleyfair, but it's getting harder and harder to stomach the sticker shock. Pros: Fun Rollercoasters, Local Cons: $31.95, and you PAY PARKING!, Gets old quick more

There is always things to do.. when it rains there are plenty of shows to catch. Pros: waterpark included Cons: lines for rides long, crowds can get busy, expensive more
