I have to agree with most of the reviews, on both sides. WCPC has a very technically proficient staff. They don't make major errors (such as mixing up animals or medications) and are careful in their surgical procedures. So at least I'm not worried they will accidentally kill one of my animals. If you want to drop off a pet, have the problem handled without your input, and then pick up the pet again, this place probably will work fine for you. However, if you are a knowledgeable or involved pet owner and expect to be consulted or included in decisions about your animal's health ... good luck. Their communication is below abysmal, and they tend to dismiss the owner's observations or concerns. I have NEVER had a vet take a thorough history for one of my (11) animals, even for a problem that is complex or long-standing. That is poor practice, pure and simple; and at times their treatment of the owner borders, in my experience, on offensive, it is so cavalier. I practically have to do a full-body tackle to get anyone to listen long enough to truly appreciate a problem. They seem to find owner involvement an impediment or obstacle, rather than an asset. What happened to informed consent?, I always wonder, where the specialist offers ideas and options, with the pros and cons, so that the OWNER (not the vet!) can make the best possible decision for his/her beloved pet. I have found this pattern extremely frustrating, and have expressed my discomfort several times to several members of the staff, to no avail. I am now looking for a different vet clinic. I'm done. And yes, they are very expensive and very motivated by money. Prepare to get charged and over-charged for just about everything. Good vet care is pricey; I have no quibble with that. But looking for ways to pad an already-substantial bill is simply poor customer service.
