This animal clinic is terrible. They do not listen to my concerns about my animal and were extremely rude to me and my family. If they treat me this way, I can't imagine how they are treating my pet while I am not there. \r \r I brought my pet from the emergency center and had just received an x-ray at 6 am, and dropped my pet off at 8 am. I specifically told them not to do anymore x-rays because It wasn't needed and he just received one, and guess what, they did three more x-rays and tried to charge me another $350 dollars for it.\r \r Last time I brought my cat here, he got attacked by a dog, and we had brought him from the same emergency clinic as this time. He had a confirmed fractured spine as well as bruising all around his neck and body. When the vet came to see my cat, she picked him up by the skin of his neck. I understand this is how you hold a cat, but not when they have a fractured spine and neck. They then wanted to get an attitude and argue with me about it when I said something about them hurting my cat. They obviously didn't care. more

The ""Show Girl"" bunked up at Westside Veterinary Hospital for 11 days combined during our travels.\r \r usually she travels with us, or we have a home sitter. neither were an option this summer, so i reluctantly agreed to have her boarded. quite attached to the family she is, i expected her to not fare well and be offered a prozac! turns out she did super! \r \r the staff is mostly friendly. love, love, love the boarding staff. i feel so much better about leaving our four legged family member here.\r \r we also use the veterinary services and really appreciate dr. ron who really concerns himself with your pets best. more

Top notch staff! We have been seeing dr. Campbell since we moved here in 2007. We only trust our pets to her. We lost our yellow lab to cancer July, 2009. Dr Campbell was so compassionate with us. We recently lost our 17 year old chocolate lab to old age. It's hard to let loved ones go but we trust this vet the most. We miss our Heidi and Texas dawg but we know they are in a better place.\r Short wait times, clean facility, would recommend. more

Ive been taking my dog here for years, and when I got my son a kitten for his birthday, I brought her here too. We saw John initially, and he explained everything the kitty needed. Dr. Cupples did her treatments. Both were incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, and clearly loved animals. I highly recommend this office, and John and Dr. Cupples in particular more

Super-friendly and knowledgeable staff. Short wait times. Clean waiting rooms. Ample parking. And they helped nurse our heat-stroked (stricken?) Shih-tzu back to health. We wouldn't use anyone else in town. more

Top-notch service and care. I wouldn't trust my pets with just any old vet clinic.\r \r We've been going to Westside for about four years now. Everyone, from Dr. Campbell to Dr. Bachynski, to Dr. Cupples, to the techs and front desk staff, LOVES animals. They treat our fur babies as if they were their own, and really take the time out to listen to us and give us the best care around. They remember who we are and I never feel like a number or faceless pet owner.\r \r All three of our pets have boarded there and received their annual shots there since we've adopted them. Two of them have gotten their spay/neutering done there as well as surgery to remove stones. Not only do they take a genuine interest in our pets, but they always ask how I am doing also (I have many health problems including surviving cancer).\r \r When we found our poodle mix, Buster, literally on the street, matted and emaciated and riddled with heartworms and hookworms, Dr. Campbell examined him and decided he was worth saving. We didn't even want to touch him, but Skyler (the vet tech) scooped him up like it was nothing. Three years and (several thousand dollars) later, Buster is one of the best dogs I've ever owned and he is back to (relative) good health. We took a chance on him and saved his life, and it wouldn't have been possible without the good people of Westside.\r \r Their staff is always friendly and the wait is usually pretty short. Everyone is knowledgeable and kind, and I wouldn't go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my babies. more

Wouldn't recommend this place 7/5/2011

The female doctor there, Dr. Campbell is AMAZING. However, if you get unlucky and have to see Dr. Hofsvetter, than I would just cancel the appointment. He is very condescending, doesn't listen to your concerns, will laugh at your concerns, and then do whatever he wants without talking to you. I took my dog in for a check up, normally $35 before taxes. They take him back to get his weight, they bring him back to me, and now there's $60 of extra charges that I wasn't even aware of until I was paying. I got the reciept to see what I had paid for and there were shots he hadn't told me about or explained to me, or given me a price or anything. I went in there expecting maybe $60 for the trip and left having paid $125. Prior to that, I had taken my dog in to get his tumors looked at. In the past my dog has had problems with tumor growth. It will accelerate quickly and in places that will make it hard for him to move and walk. I explain this to the doctor and he just laughed at me and told me my concerns were worthless and I was just worried about the asthetic look of my dog. Really? No, the one that kept him from walking a few years back has returned and it's growth was getting faster and I wanted to get it before it messed up his shoulder and walking again. He laughed at me and then left the room. Then I took my dog in for a special little two minute procedure and wanted to ask the vet tech if she could look at his leg and tell me if I could just keep putting neosporin on it, or if he needed something stronger or what. The lady at the front desk tells me I have to make an appointment just to ask that question, and that is because a vet tech isn't trained to know that kind of stuff. I have half a dozen friends who are vet techs in other areas, I know that they know this stuff. But they just want my money. more

I took my Chihuahua to get her teeth cleaned by Dr. Campbell. Because she is almost 12 years old and issues with a previous cleaning by another vet (severe wheezing for months afterwards), I was very nervous about having them cleaned again. By the time I took her to Dr. Campbell, her teeth were in pretty bad shape. Dr. Campbell assured me that everything would be OK and that she would take every precaution when putting the tub and removing it. Well, it has been four days since she had them cleaned and she is in great shape. She has not shown a single sign of her throat being irritated and has not wheezed once. Even though she lost most of her teeth, she is gobbling her food down as if she had a full set and is once again barking her little head off at the 120 pound dog next door. The entire office staff was very professional and caring. I had other issues with my previous vet and after talking with Dr. Campbell, I feel comfortable switching to her clinic. more

Our favorite vets 12/7/2010

We love everyone here at Westside. Their prices are extremely reasonable compared to other locations that we have taken our dogs. We have 2 large dogs and all our friends are shocked at how much we have done for the cost! We recommend them all the time. more

Stay Away !!!!! 6/24/2010

This is the worse veterinary clinic I have been to. My dogs are 14 years old and I have been lucky to have poutstanding doctors care for them. Pros: zero more

Poorly trained staff, poorly managed place. 5/17/2010

My Mom took my brothers dog there recently after he was hit by a car. She told them that she wasn't sure the exact day that he was hit (possibly on Sat or Sun), she filled out what little she knew about the dog and gave them my brothers number to contact him. He NEVER received a call. They never contacted him to let him know what was going on, how his dog was or what procedures they needed to perform on him. NOTHING. My brothers dog was not on any heartworm meds, etc. (From my own experience working at an animal hospital in Pearland for years, we ALWAYS tested the animal for HW's if they hadn't been previously tested or treated, unless the client refused. We would then tell them the dangers of not having their animal tested, and the problems their animal may have handling the anesthetic.) They put him under, popped his hip back into place and called it good. My Mom had to go pick him up because they never called my brother to let him know anything, just to call my Mom and have him picked up. Well he died the next day. Hmm, funny how a dislocated hip can kill a dog! He was fine that night after the procedure, the next day my Mom went to check on him (my brother was at work), and he was dead. She called to talk to the tech (whom apparently isn't well trained and should be in a completely different job field) and asked how this could happen, and if they performed a heartworm test. The girl didn?t know what to say and she said no that he wasn?t tested, but lo and behold they had charged him to be tested and said that they would test him! (My Mom had informed them that he had not been on any kind of flea or heartworm prevention). Now they're demanding their money...for killing a dog. If the dogs condition was that serious my brother would have done what he had to do to get him well. Not just pop his hip back into place and let him come home to die!!! My brother offered to pay the office visit fee and the cost of the X-Rays, but the owner said no he wants payment in full. Can you say CROOK??!! I will definitely be warning all my friends and family about this place. Cons: Words just can't describe how awful this place is... more

They saved my dog's life! 5/11/2010

What an awesome place and the staff is so friendly and knowledgable. My dog had parvo, they said if they treated him, he would have an 80 percent chance of recovery. 2 days later my chihuahua, Oscar, was back home. I can't thank them enough and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to save my baby! more
