Found animals 7/16/2012

Hi I was told that the Woburn P.D. takes found animals to you and you hold them for 10 days, Do you have a part of your web site that shows those animals ? In case their owners are looking for them. Do you adopt out or euthanize ? If not can you add a spot so owners can see who is in your care from Woburn , It took me specifically writing to the Dog Officer to even find out where the live animals were taken. Why the big mystery? there has been a missing dog poster on the pole in front of my apartment for about a week now.I'll bet they have no idea where to look . more

Excellent care. Knowledgable Staff. 3/1/2012

Great animal hospital 7/18/2010

I recently brought my kitten sampson to VCA Animal Hospital, he had a terrible case of ear mites and also had never been to the vet. I couldnt of had a BETTER experience. i had many cats and seen many vets. Everyone was SO NICE and everyone know it's not cheap to go to the vet. I told them how much i had and they def worked with me and were more then happy to give me a quote and also resources to get my cat fixed somewhere cheap b/c they genuinely care about animals and not just the money. They were awesome and do also give free first exam with a coupon, i no problems with them honoring it. also gave my cat a free dose of frontline. I walked out there very happy with the service, staff and WONDERFUL doctors. You bring your animal there and you WILL get wonderul service and care. more

VCA Wakefield is the best around. It's easy to get to from anywhere and the hours are perfect for anyone's tight work schedule. \r The facilities are very clean and roomy. \r Importantly the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, caring and patient. Our puppy loves all the Techs and Dr's. more

Clarification re honoring spay/neuter certificates 5/11/2010

I am the manager of VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital, and I wanted to take a moment to clarify our policy on Northeast Animal Shelter certificates. I apologize to J.C., who was given incorrect information.\r \r We offer a $35 physical exam to newly adopted pets from the Northeast Animal Shelter, and -- although the spay/neuter surgery IS free -- we do charge for pre-surgical bloodwork, pain medication to go home, and an Elizabethan collar to protect the surgical site. That brings the price -- including bloodwork -- to approximately $150. All patients receive an IV catheter, are intubated, and are monitored by both a highly trained technician and a sophisticated monitoring machine. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, we are required to maintain the highest standards in the industry.\r \r We also offer a free physical exam to new clients, and we offer a 50% discount to registered non-profit organizations.\r \r Again, I apologize for the misinformation that was provided to J.C. more

VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital is TOP DOG 9/24/2009

I bring my golden Molly to Dr. Simonelli. Dr. Simonelli definitely chose the right career. Being a vet requires alot of training, but you can not teach a love for animals and Dr Simonelli and the entire staff do a fantastic job. Molly has seen other Dr's here and they are all wonderful. The entire staff is great and the wait time is minutes. As soon as we walk in the door, everyone there knows us and always greets Molly. The follow up is so genuine and heartfelt. Molly was recently ill and Dr. Simonelli called immediately the next morning to check on Molly and the staff also called to check on Molly. No matter the reason for our visit, we both always leave feeling better. KUDOS TO YOU ALL! more

Not honoring a spay/neuter certificate in the manner that they are supposed 3/25/2009

I had an experience where I called Wakefield Animal Hosp. about a spay certificate I had received from the Northeast Animal Shelter for a cat. (At the time I got the cat, I was told that I would only be responsible for the $35 exam fee.) I called the Wakefield Animal Hospital today and they claimed I'd have to pay 1/2 of the cost of the spay - (half of $360). Called the Northeast Animal Shelter back and they gave me other vets who participate. Stone-ham Animal Hospital on Central only charges $35. Why the huge discrepancy if Wakefield Animal Hospital is allegedly participating in the same program? Northeast Animal Shelter was not aware of this difference or any reason for it. Sorry but I've found the Wakefield A.H. to be very, very expensive in the past, as well. more

The best care consistently; friendliest environment always! 9/15/2008

I found VCA Wakefield when I first moved to the area a few years ago. I have been taking my pets there ever since. I had a wonderful chihuahua that had several health problems, and Dr. Kruse and the entire staff took the absolute best care of her; and spoiled her beyond rotten! They were so thoughtful and caring when Lola passed away and sent cards of sympathy. I cannot tell you how much that meant to me. I now take my two chihuahuas there and have received the absolute best care for them. I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for me. more
