VCA Redmond Animal Hospital is overpriced 10/15/2009

The staff was very friendly, but the services are way overpriced. I brought my sick cat in for excessive drooling & vomiting. They ran several blood tests & were unable to determine a cause. So they gave her some Pepcid AC. She was better w/in 10min & gave me a $490 bill. It would've been nice to have been given the option of antacid first. more

Not Much Help 9/11/2008

The staff is friendly at VCA Redmond Animal Hospital but when I brought my sick cat in, over $450 later the vet told me she had no idea what was wrong. She suggested running the same expensive tests over again. She also prescribed a flea/worm medicine (without evidence that it was needed) and it burned my cat's skin and he lost his hair. I felt like I had wasted money! more

Overpriced, busy HOSPITAL (with all that this implies) 9/5/2006

I took my new kitten in for the 3rd in a seies of expensive "new kitten" vaccinations and asked them to look at his ears (mites, or something similar that had been there since the last visit but went unnoticed by the technician); I was quoted $45 on the phone. The shocker was not that it came to more than that, but that it came to over $160 because the vet did a swab of my cat's ear and looked at it under the microscope. Even so, the vet's findings were inconclusive! my cat still has a problem that has not gone away with home treatment and now has become very serious - i plan to find a cat doctor who will see my pet him or herself rather than hand him over to a technician who is rushing and not really looking at my animal. (By the way, the techs also do reception and this is not a good idea). Also, they don't allow you to accompany your animal for the vaccines; their reason: "it stresses the animal more when their owner is nearby." I found that odd and discomforting. Pros: none that I know of Cons: overpriced, overpaced, overstaffed for everyday vet needs more

Overpriced! 8/6/2006

The staff was really nice, but this place charges a fortune. My cat had a swollen paw, and they charged me $150 for an xray. Turned out it was an insect byte, so they charged me $75 more dollars for benadryl and a couple of other meds. Overall, this visit cost me $300, for an insect byte! Don't go there unless you are ready to spend a lot of money! Pros: nice staff Cons: incredibly expensive more

Not a bad place, but a serious rip-off. 11/14/2005

I've seen lots of animal hospitals across the country, and this one is not the worst I've seen, by far. The people and the service were good. But over $100 for two routine shots for my cat is RIDICULOUS. Even $75 I might have been annoyed, but still gone back--I realize this area isn't cheap. (Though I moved out here from the North side of Chicago, which isn't cheap either. But getting the cat spayed, including full anesthesia, an overnight stay, suture removal, *and* a rabies shot on top of that was $75 at a nice clinic--how can they charge so much for so little here?) Bottom line: this clinic isn't worth the money. I'd pay a premium for a place so convenient and open on weekends, that's clean and has a friendly staff--but not this much. I'm never going back to this place. PROS: Decent, read my review CONS: TOO EXPENSIVE more

Exceptional service!! 11/12/2005

This hospital employs some of the kindest and animal-loving people. My dogs have been examined by all of the Veterinarians there. They make a point to give detailed explanations for the proper care. The vet technicians take the time to "get-to-know" your family member; and express their concern of your pet's well-being. Thanks for Keeping My Cat Healthy! 7/26/2005

I've been taking my cat to Redmond Veterinary Hospital for several years now, and can't be more pleased. Our cat is very healthy for his age (thanks to the doctors), and always gets great treatment. The staff is friendly and knowlegdeable, and the clinic is nice and clean. more
