Stay FAR AWAY! 4/29/2010

From the moment I stepped in the door with my pet they were rude, tried to intimidate me into doing something I didn't want to do, and actually HARMED my pet - hurt her eyes and teeth, but I was forced to sign a paper saying I wouldn't sue them, that they could do anything they wanted to do. I will never ever ever set foot in the door of this place again, and would STRONGLY recommend that you stay as far away from them as possible. Surely there are better places to take your pet. They should be put out of business!!!! Pros: NONE! Cons: Intimidating, Rude, Overcharged, Uninformed, AWFUL! more

Great care comes at a cost 1/3/2010

If you need full-on top-notch round-the-clock hospital care for your pet, this is the place - if you can afford it. They did not pull any punches regarding options and outcomes and everyone I encountered could not have been nicer. They know they are dealing with big-bucks procedures and people who's lives are coming unglued and I think they earned every penny. We would get calls twice a day - including the middle of the night when necessary with updates. We visited as much as we cared to. I have regrets, but no complaints. I'm glad they are available. more

Best Emergency Vet Care in the Northwest 12/18/2009

I usually don't write reviews but in our case and after reading other posts below I feel compelled to do so. First of all any Vet in the country that is worth anything will ask for at least half of the estimated cost of care up front. I feel that this is standard throughout the USA. I've traveled from coast to coast and have had the misfortune of needing emergency vet services on other occasions. We have a mini dachshund that managed to rupture two discs in her back and paralysis was starting in her back legs. We went to NWVS expecting the worst. The prognosis, after MRI, was a 90% chance of success. We were given an estimate, and were asked to pay half of the estimate only if we decided to proceed. Throughout the whole decision making process, both the doctor and staff were very patient and understanding in our time of anxiety. As it turned out the surgery was a grand success and we now have our little DD back and in great condition and able to do all of the doggy things she used to do. She just can't do steps anymore and play her favorite toy tug-o-war. Once again, If you need emergency vet care be ready to pay if you really want your pet to have a chance at a future. In my opinion, this is the best place to give them that chance. Pros: Staff that genuinely cares about animals more

Couldn't say enough 12/12/2008

The trauma team is a dream come true. Even though are Cody still left us, the sympathy and all night work done by this large amazing team of people will forever be in our hearts. No questions asked they were on top of what to do. more

Love the caring of the staff 12/10/2008

I took my cat there for cancer treatment (surgery and chemo) and loved the caring staff and veterinarians. They also have ICU techs monitoring cats after surgery. This great care is not without a pretty high price tag and they do require half of the estimated fees up front. more

Poor service from top to bottom 10/20/2008

Think twice before taking your dog for the surgery. Front desk, some of they are rude and RIDICULOUS. The doctors are efficient but they just don't have time for you they can only help you when they are on the clock which means if I don't get pay you don't get help. more

Great Care 6/23/2008

We just moved to Oregon from California with our two dogs and unfortunitly before we moved our chocolate lab tore his ACL. Our Vet in California referred us to Dr. Wooldridge and his staff. I was really nervous about someone else handling our dog b/c we had been with our Vet for years but right off the bat the staff at NWVS was wonderful and comforting. Our chocolate lab is very high in energy and crazy with excitement (apparently a normal trait with chocolate labs.....) and the staff was wonderful and professional with the way they handled him. They helped us out through the whole processed and he is recovering really well. I couldn't have asked for a better experiance and care. Pros: Wonderful staff, doctors, and office more
