i have came in before and waited and it was very busy and neither did the doctor or dr asst came out to asst with mei was there for atleast 30 mins and still did not get help some...

The Best Veterinary Hospital and Staff 12/18/2010

Encina has taken care of my family's dogs for years. The doctors are the best - we've been treated by the same doctors since first finding this wonderful and caring hospital. We've been treated like family, and our pets have had the best care possible. On more than one occasion, we would have lost a dog if we had not had access to this group of professionals who have a high standard of excellence. They are committed to their profession and to their clients. Although recently moved out of state, Encina continues to offer advice and counsel on the care of the most precious thing in my life. We will be driving to California in the next couple of weeks so that my dog can be seen there. The Bay Area is incredibly fortunate to have access to such a hospital and the group of professionals there. more

Very Slow when it comes to us clients waiting in the area 10/14/2010

i have came in before and waited and it was very busy and neither did the doctor or dr asst came out to asst with mei was there for atleast 30 mins and still did not get help some asst were up front talking to receptonist i will never refer this hospital so now we go cypress vet there the best and non waiting .. more

Dr. Nurre and the staff at Encina Veterinary Hospital were terrific in caring for and treating my Jack Russell Terrier. She was 15 when she started having seizures for unknown reasons and couldn't seem to digest her food. I honestly thought it was the end for her but we took her in, Dr. Nurre examined her, held her overnight for a couple days and hooked her up IV machines b/c she was so weak. They even called late at night to give us updates on her since they knew we were up and worried. She got a little better w/ their attention and care so we were able to take her home and Dr. Nurre prescribed some meds (as well as home remedies like cooking chicken breast and eggs to settle her stomach) to see how she did. \r \r He had diagnosed her heart issues and a tumor before prescribing these meds. He also gave us suggestions on how to get her meds at the most economical way. Over time he would called to check in on her and her well -being. He was able to give us 2 1/2 more years of time more

wonderful establishment, genuinely care about pets and their owners 8/20/2010

I brought my dog here for the first time ever last week when he ate something bad. I had never been here or heard of them, they were just the closest ER hospital. I had a wonderful experience with them; the reception area was clean, the women who work at the front were expecting me (I called ahead) and came out to help me carry my dog and open the door for me. They had a tech waiting for me to take the dog back right away, sat me down in a nice clean exam room, one doctor talked to me while another took my dog in the back to examine right away, and they were kind enough to offer me something to drink because I was so frantic. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Johnson and his team of many, I'm greatful they saved my dogs life and took care of me in the mean time as well. They also let me work out a payment plan which is good because I am on a fixed income from SSI. Thank you forever Encina, I can't say enough good things. more

Encina Vet 1/12/2008

The turnover of vets is ridiculous. The quality of care is very inconsistant. Our dog 's bone cancer was misdiagnosed and his vet made his last month of life his worst with unnecessary biopsies by a vet just out of residency. Horrible care, in addition to charging the highest fees in the area. Pros: None Cons: Quality of care more

Doctor Jill is GREAT!!! 1/9/2007

Doctor Jill is a great person and vet. She spends a lot of time with you when you go for a visit. You really know she loves animals. All the vets at Encina make you feel comfortable and they have saved MANY of my pets! Its great to know that they are open 24/7 now. They saved my labs leg after a garage door fell on him when I went to take him out to go potty. You would never think anything ever happened to him. We have been using Encina for over 25 years. Pros: great staff makes you feel right at home Cons: I can't think of ANY! more
